It appears that Russian RIA news agency "confirmed" that Ukrainian forces have recaptured Staryi Saltiv in the Kharkiv Oblast.(that's 40 kms from Kharkiv)

It was rumoured two days ago based on a "senior US Defense official" that the Ukies retook it.

The United States should not fight a war — any war — unless it is absolutely needed to prevent an actual or looming attack on our people or homeland. Period. War is not a tool to compel others to do our will. It is not an appropriate means of “punishing” an adversary for engaging in actions we don’t like — and that includes Russia.

"As of the evening of May 4, the Ukrainian authorities have a connection with the units that defend Mariupol, Head of the Ukrainian delegation at the talks with Russia, head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia told Radio Liberty.

"For the second day, attempts to storm the plant continue. Russian troops are already on the territory of Azovstal," Arakhamia said, referring to the commander of the Azov regiment.

"Russia just lost its first T-90M *** near Kharkiv. Its destruction comes only days after this variant was first sighted in Ukraine."

Reminder that that's the best they have besides the Armata vaporware. Estimated number of 40 are operational.

100% agree. One of the reasons for the American Revolution was that the colonist did not want to have to pay for or fight other country's wars. The French and Indian war was all for the conquest of Britian and didn't benefit the Colonist but yet a lot of them were forced to go fight and then after it was justification for the taxes. What we revolted against we became.

#RUSSIA: #Nizhnevartovsk - military enlistment office set on fire. This Russian hero threw seven Molotov cocktails, even before the announcement of partial or full mobilization.
The Russian people deny Putin's fascist regime.

Well it's not up to them, it's up to the president/congress and it's unlikely because it gives them a lot of political pull with europe. Nevermind how much the american public pays for it and how little benefit it gives us. But if it happened somehow I would be very happy.

I think you underestimate the benefits of nato..

First, when has the US ever joined a conflict to defend another nato country?
Second, how many nato soldiers fought in both US iraq conflicts + afghanistan?

And lets not forget, would it really be in the US best interest to drop an alliance with europe/canada and risk them partnering up with china/russia? Because if you say “fuk you, we’re not going to help you if youre attacked” its almost assured that they will ally with someone else.

I like how you guys make it seem like the US is being so “charitable” by being in nato lmao... as if it doesnt serve your countrys geopolitical interests.

All nato is right now is the united states protecting europe, at our own cost. NATO can get fuked.

Keep crying.

From a US perspective it's called force projection/benevolent hegemony/acting as a deterrent and protecting US interest. Also something something WW2 aftermath, post WW2 commitments/treaties and "global reach, global power". Last but not least the countries with NATO bases tend to spend what they may save on US stuff, so there's that as well.

By being the only member with a real military and covering the cost for the whole thing. The only country that actually pays its dues is Poland.

What whole thing bro? Wtf are you talking about?

When was the last time any nato country was even threatened? Now that they are they are all increasing their military output (obviously). No one is going to pay the US protection money like youre the mob lmao...

And europe isnt new to war in case youre unaware, it can and will defend itself just fine dw.

Interesting how none of you ****ots were talking shiet about nato when all of us were sending over troops to your countrys idiotic campaigns in the middle east.

That's right. As I said, the only country that pays what it's supposed to is Poland. Everyone else shorts NATO and the US covers the difference. If you think that's okay because NATO is unnecessary since Europe can defend itself then by all means, fuking disband it. If the euro cucks can keep out the russian horde on their own, good luck to them. If not, that's okay with me too.

Hilarious how you are pathologically unable to tell the truth even when the topic isn't directly related to Russia. But of course we know the real reason behind your butthurt streak is that NATO is backing up Ukraine and will keep doing so. And you will keep being butthurt.

"european cuck leeches" - So the US just maintains its presence out of altruism and selflessness? Dang, never knew that's how geopolitics worked.

"only member with a real military" - uh huh, ok. Thank you for defending Europe from uhh...

"covering the cost for the whole thing" - whole thing meaning what? Also citation needed. Need I also remind you how Trump called out other NATO members for not meeting the 2% requirement so they started ramping up military spendings - cough, buying US stuff -, doubly so after Putin the autist made his recent move?

Keep seething, boyo.

You keep tking about pay but i dont think you know what youre trying to talk about lmao.

Out of curiosity: what do you thinking the nato contributions go towards?

And ya sure man, go ahead and convince your congress to leave nato lol, good luck. Europe will be just fine.

How does Putler do it?

Europe is now buying 1 billion Roubles per day and selling 1 billion Euros per day on the FX market.
It's going to continue getting stronger and the euro is going to get completely crushed.
They are going to experience very high inflation. Permanently.

You're mentally ill, you don't remember chit except for your confabulations.

It is worth adding some US personnel based in Europe support non-Nato operations and US military numbers fluctuate as forces are rotated in and out of Europe.

However, the biggest single overseas deployment of US personnel is not in a Nato member state at all. It is in Japan, where the US maintains more than 50,000 troops.

European NATO nations absolutely should contribute the correct amount towards their defense, which they finally are now thanks to Putin the world's best NATO salesman, but fkn LMAO if you don't think the US gets anything out of this. They've not been bankrolling European defense for the last 80 years because of having a giant bleeding heart. It's so they can continue to project force globally.
