Yes, Zelensky is only responsible for protecting the sovereignty of his country from a deluded, lunatic who is foolishly hellbent on restoring the borders of a past failed regime.

He's responsible for antagonizing Russia to this despite being warned for the last 20 years(biden also responsible here since he only did this because he was promised support), he's responsible for ending settlement negotiations and continuing this conflict, and he's refusing to allow conscript aged men to leave the country. If Zelensky's life/wealth was at risk there is a 100% chance he would find a diplomatic solution instead, but as long as it's other people bleeding he's okay with letting the conflict continue (just like you).

The people fighting right now are regional militias that were supposed to only defend their relative territories. Zelensky just changed the law to put them on the front lines. That tells you where Ukraine is at in terms of manpower, despite all the help they're being given.

Luv' me country
Luv' freedums!
Luv' Liberteh!
Luv' me mum!
Luv' yurop!
'Ate bolsheviks
'Ate pootin!
'Ate commiez!
'Ate auforitarianz!
'Ate vatniks(Not raycis, just don't like em)
Simple as.

On a more serious note.. poor phuking sods on both sides, just viewed a video of a vatnik pow shellshocked and stuttering like his head is about to explode.

On one side I see young men fighting to defend their country, yet the fighting is prolonged and encouraged by the powers that be as it serves their interests(or so it appears).. the longer it continues, the dimmer their personal prospects go, maybe some of them will be able to live a life half decent after the war, but even IF the west pulls a germany .2 out of ukraine somehow, the damage is done and the timeframe might mean that it won't be theirs to enjoy even in the best possible scenario.

On the other side, I see young men fighting on orders of some aging stalin wannabe, most probably have a home to come back to and if they can make it till the end, they probably will, but I think they might end up as the vietnam veteran equivalents of russia and face neglect, disrespect or outright hatred, especially if the war results in the country going even further down the toilet.

Personally I'd like to see pootins regime end and russia turning into several smaller states, partly because I think smaller states would have more potential and opportunity for individuals as russia as it is, is quite the pariah and seemingly dealing with them is dealing death to their neighbors(Georgia, Chechnya, Kazakhstan, Ukraine in the last 20smth years alone, try to turn the clock another 20 or 40 for a surprise), but mostly because all of my family is spread around Sweden, Finland and the Baltics and to no surprise, if soviet commies weren't a thing, I'd have waaay more grandparents and aunts/uncles and one's that didn't face the depravity that came with the regime at that.

Actually freedom gets negotiated all the time. Imagine being american and not understanding that. Zelensky chose to fight rather than negotiate and now ukraine bleeds while you rant about muh freedoms from the other side of the globe

I suppose this is to be expected from a terrorism lover

Problem is this has becoming a political issue in the US, and the democrats are seen to be the side in support of ukraine... therefore, the conservatives feel compelled to be opposed to that.

Combine that with the bogus anti-russian bullshiet the democrats spewed up with trump, there you go, here we are.

I can guaran-fuking-teeeee you that if trump was in office and he was supporting ukraine, all these guys would be in here bashing putin.

I can also guarantee in that situation that the democrats would be on russias side. Such is american politics in 2022z

I've always been anti war. Libs right now are acting just like republicans under bush. I was constantly accused of being pro iraqi back then just like they're accusing me of being a putin lover now. War brings out the worst in people, especially stupid people.

Trump was the first to advocate a diplomatic response to this

Most conservative Americans support Ukraine, like 75%+ according to polls.

Ukraine Lend-Lease Act passed 417 to 10.

Only a minority weirdo 'conservatives' support Russian communists.
