Made it three years at my company - reps till I'm out

At my company, there's a very nice perk at the 3 years mark where you get the following benefts.

- 401k contribution is now fully vested. Checked and confirmed, my 401k's "vestment" value is now equivalent to the full pot. Woo!
- Extra week of vacation per year. Essentially this means going from 21 days to 26. Not including holidays or a certain number, 8 I think, sick days.

Unfortunately the next time I get any kind of "tenureship" reward is 5 years from now lol, which is merely an extra 5 days of vacation. I do not anticipate being at this company that long, mostly because they only do ~3-5% pay bumps per year, srs. Not good in a 10% inflation economy. Or while taking into consideration my rent is going up 18 freaking percent.

While an extra vacation week is nice, I'm mostly just excited about the 401k thing. Now if I quit or get let go, I keep the company's contribution to the 401k. A lot of companies make this a 5 year thing, so I feel somewhat lucky it's only 3 for mine. I would completely ignore any kind of recruiter hitting me up on LinkedIn for this reason. Now I can at least consider it, or perhaps even job shop around a bit.

Reps till I'm out! Net worth went up like $20k today I guess you could say. Roth btw, so after taxes.

I did not mean anything I said. I will consider reconsidering upon payment.

Congrats, 3 years in will be good to show if you ever jump laterally to another company for a raise

Heck yeah good point, forgot to think about that. My first job was like 2 yearsish, second job was 1.5 years, now this one is 3+ years... perhaps the next company will auto-assume I'm down for the long haul?

There will never not be truth to this unfortunately. Nonetheless repped.

Repped others ITT too, except for some. Out of reps ATM. Will try again later tonight, if not then tomorrow. IDK what time reps reset.

Nice. The company I’m at now has a 5 year vesting period. I’m at three years and so I’ll only get to keep 60%. Job hopping still works out better in the long run.

There was one prospect which was gonna offer ~30% more, applied at the 2 years mark I think, but I blew the final interview. Hungover and had some bad answers. Next time though!
