There was a supposed peace with minimal shelling/fighting. According to the UN, 7 civilians died in the year 2021. That's not a war by any means.... It might be presumptuous to make claims like these, but it looks like Russia played into someone's hand by initiating this special operation (and possibly soon to come mobilization) - now it appears as the bad guy as compared to Ukraine initiating it and not receiving any help. nomsayin?

Like you say, no country in Europe is giving them their best stuff or at least not to the extent of leaving themselves vulnerable. Russia just took their best shot at taking over a country with 50 million people, land area 600K km2 and 155 billion USD. Ukraine has fought them to a standstill and inflicted horrific losses. But yeah sure, Russia could definitely take on Europe with their 750 million people and a 17.1 trillion GDP and 10 million km2, plus superior military technology.

Western think tanks have been talking up Russia military power for decades to get those sweet sweet arms deals going on. Must suck to see their business model go up in flames like this.
