I do way too much outside of work to sacrifice that much of my free time, but if the job was one of my passions/personal business... It all boils down to the type of work and how it fares in comparison to my personal life in terms of fulfilment. Although it might be worth a temporary sacrifice if that pay bump would help me reach an end goal faster.

Imagine the taxes.
I'm kind of a workaholic. If I didn't have kids I'd be tempted to do 80 hours, if I could make my own schedule. Start working at 5am and have 12 hours in by the time most people are getting 8 in. Maybe do a few 16 hour days and have at least one day off a week.
Would only do it short term to invest and hopefully retire earlier.

Most ive worked in my life was 74hrs a week and I wanted to kill myself.... **** that ****. You go to work, sleep, **** and shower then head straight back out there. 40hrs easily and its not even close

From an hourly standpoint, I would consider anything over 40 hours a week as overtime. So at $125 an hour for the first 40 hours, for an additional 40 hours it would have to be at least $187.50 an hour for it to go anywhere past "phuk off".
I have worked remote camp shift work where you are there two weeks on / two weeks off / 7 days a week / 12+ hours per day / 84+ hours a week. With zero options of anything to do after shift and knowing its only two weeks until you get two weeks off, its not terrible.
For me to do 80 hours consistently, without some sort of MASSIVE comp time / paid leave / bonus package, it would take a lot more than $500K.

Take less make more then most people in the US anyway. Stash that, invest that, let that money make money without the need for intervention.

I'd take the 250k option for sure. Maybe if I was very early 20s I'd take the 500k option for a year and then switch over to the 250k option. Where I live the second option would correspond to take home pay of roughly 300k in the first year then 160k thereafter.
