If they have to russia can resupply through mariupol. That's if they could actually train those men on using howitzers and actually get them to kharkov, which they can't. The first thing Russia did was destroy Ukraines transportation. We'd have to get them tractors to haul them and then they'd have to pull them all the way to kharkov, which would take forever.

Im sure some of them are trained but i doubt the guys assaulting kharkov are. I really think the distraction theory makes the most sense. The ukrainian fortifications are in the south, shelling some supply lines isnt nearly as important as keeping russia contained.

Clearly russia doesnt think its important, ukraine has been pushing there for weeks and russia hasnt done anything to stop them.

Honestly, i wouldn't be surprised if morale is low on both sides. Winning or losing, the battles are mostly just both sides shelling each other with artillery, drones, and rockets. Which means probably a lot of soldiers just sitting trenches hardly ever actually laying eyes on the enemy and just hoping to survive the day.

Makes sense that foreign legion soldiers are bailing, but i would expect the same is true of reports of Russian soldiers bailing. The people with the most skin in the game are Ukrainians who believe in defense of their country even if morale is low they probably will still be the most determined to fight on.

Plus the russian soldiers dont really want to be there killing ukrainian conscripts. They're not defending their homeland, they're killing men that could be their cousins over access to a shipping port

Ukraine is absolutely wrecking the ass of the RU mil in eastern and southern Ukraine now, even moreso than they did in northern Ukraine.

The number of vids the past few days of RU mil armor and equipment getting destroyed there has gone through the roof.

Putin has fallen into a well-prepared trap that he has no good/winning way out of. His losses are not sustainable. He'll have a military without armor by winter and maybe well before.

Understand that it doesn't matter so much where the current lines are - the eventual lines will be at Ukraine's internationally-recognized border including all of Donbas and Crimea.

The single most important thing of all by far in this war currently are the extremely high number of RU equipment losses and the fact that they're unsustainable. Russia does not have the rapid production capability to replace those losses at this speed. Nothing in the history of modern warfare compares to it. No large modern invading army has lost this high a % of its armor and equipment per time. Nothing even comes remotely close. This is so vastly unique that it's bizarre.

Ukraine on the other hand has dozens of countries to replace losses it sustains, countries with a huge overall mil budget and deep pockets.

There is one and only one conclusion to this and that's complete RU defeat.
