Los Angeles Imposes New Water Restrictions Amid Drought, Asks Residents to Reduce Showering Time by 4 Minutes

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and LADWP on Tuesday announced new water restrictions amid a worsening drought.

Californians ignored Governor Newsom’s pleas to use 15% less water last summer after a year of pandemic restrictions.

Democrat Garcetti is imposing new water restrictions on 4 million residents since Californians didn’t voluntarily cut water use.

Droughts are almost 100% caused by politicians.

Same thing here. They have been saying so cal is in a drought for at least 40 years yet there are plenty of golf courses and fountains.

Its just a way to control us and to jack up the price of everything,.

You telling me America cant even provide clean water to its citizens? Congo can do it but we cant? nonsense.

Several decades now, California has been using water and power as excuses to raise prices and increase control at the state level(and it works its way to the municipal level too).

We are leaving very soon. Almost everyone I know is leaving or has left. This state, especially the big cities, are really decaying fast.

I believe it was around 2016 and it had been a year that our state was conserving water and the large majority of the state did. Apparently, we did such an amazing job and these corrupt bastards noticed that they took in less $$$ from water use and therefore raised our water fees as a reward for conserving water. The state will fall for this crap again though since...Cali.

California could fix this problem in less than 10 years if they really wanted to. Build several new coastal nuclear reactors to generate clean energy. Build desalination plants next to each one to provide water.
The Jebel Ali desalination plant in ***** produces almost 500 million gallons of water per day. That's just one complex using natural gas. (I think)
Unfortunately, the days of America tackling big problems are long gone.

The enviros have convinced the state and feds that fish are more important than humans. Since 1992 with the passage of the federal Central Valley Project Improvement Act, they have continually reduced the amount of water exported from the Bay Delta to benefit fish. And, they continue to want more water left in the rivers for "water quality" purposes in the name of fish.

Don't let the approved narrative fool you. There is plenty of water (even in this drought) for people and farms.

As they have taken surface water supplies from farmers, farmers have used groundwater to continue farming. This is unsustainable as there is a finite amount of groundwater in each aquifer. So, they will soon restrict groundwater usage. There are going to be large swaths of land go fallow, along with the taxes they produce.
