I never understood why these kinds of discussions always bring out such heavy resistance. You could make a thread about video games being addicting and being a detriment to someone's life and not get as much pushback as we see here.

For me I knew porn was bad for me when I became very apathetic towards irl encounters with women. That's when I knew for me it wasn't so harmless. Once I cut that **** out I started to give a damn about women again. Hard to say that effect is just a placebo

probably because more guys engage in porn than video games so it hits close to home. the addiction aspect probably reinforces the societal disapproval of guys that watch porn.

And then again it appears to be black and white with no grey on the topic.

But yeah, if you are losing interest in women in real life then it's a good sign to step back.

Im a big believer in biology. If something isn’t natural, then it isn’t good. Applies to social media, feminism and porn, which is the world destroying trifecta of the early 2000s and will be remembered as such.

I totally agree it's ridiculous for kids. But as an adult, I started watching a lot of it, and i honestly don't know what the downsides are. Granted I take a much different approach to it but I don't notice any mental or physical energy drains, I'm in a healthiest relationship I've ever been in (and she knows all about it), and it's increased my sensitivity during sex (again I take a different approach to it).

what are you talking about dude

1) almost every parent tells their kid over and over and over sex is a sacred act, as do teachers, religious leaders, family members etc....

2) sex has been a massively important thing for 50,000 years yes, but not always in a "sacred" way, the vikings raped and pillaged as did MANY cultures and societies before them, and that wasnt even a thousand years ago my dude. The roman's were way more liberal with sexual practices than we are and that was also not that long ago.

Monogamy and an over emphasis on the importance of sex is a modern creation mostly lead by women
