MRI REPORTS of spine, 4+ years of extreme widespread chronic pain 19, HELP!!
I know I said left bb.com, this is far more important than some floozy departure notice.
I am 19.
This is the last thread on the MRI findings.
https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...hp?t=181036893
Here is the report (1 page out of 9, others just have too much personal information about referrals and stuff)

So what can I do guys? I still have like 80+ years of life left, 24/7 I have extreme pains, laying down/anything is torture. Face, jaw, teeth, eyes, migraine headaches, back, pelvis, joints, hands, everything in my body. Just excruciating for no reason whatsoever.
I do and don't understand, I think tight/weak muscles are wreaking havoc on my spine/body, but fixes don't seem to work.
I'm never depressed, in person I am very happy, help old people, polite, love all animals, do all kinds of activities everyday etc etc.
But now I swear I'm going insane, crazy, I want to go out and **** people up. People complaining about such menial things claiming mental health/garbage, I swear, everyone experiences nothing. Perfect physical health and has hardships.
!!!!!!!!

In the beggining of lifting all I trained was pull ups and dips, for like 2.5 years. Got up to a +85kg chinup. I'm thinking maybe my body has learnt that all it can do is pull ups, thus being extremely ineffective at performing other tasks, like brushing teeth or opening a door. Or pushing.
By that I think my body has created its own neurological imbalance, with the addition of a raw muscular imbalance. Stuck in that loop for years and maybe now it is spazzing out even more? Especially since it all overlapped with my growing ages of 14-19.

I wouldn’t ever do a yoga class
Pilates is generally just a good balanced choice for really strengthening your core in a way that will support your spine through natural movements.

Also man I know this sounds cheesy. But don’t give into giving up on your spine, posture, etc..
Don’t get all slumped and mopey, hunching over etc.. be conscious of standing up tall and strengthening and fighting through pain etc… over time your body adapts and builds towards its goals and how it holds itself. Mindset and connection affects a lot.

Look up the egoscue method. Start going to one of their clinics or do zoom sessions if you can afford it. Buy pete egoscue's books and read them. If you do this it'll change your life and save you YEARS of chronic pain.

How the hell did you do that to yourself at the age of 19? Your neck is actually backwards in alignment of what it should be and you've destroyed a bunch of your vertebrae. Unless you've been doing major really bad lifting through your developmental years that simply shouldn't happen.
The reason everything hurts is because most of your spine is compressed or out of alignment, and that isn't something that is fixed quickly - if at all - sorry to say. Foam rolling isn't going to a damned thing. A few years of proper stretching with your spine in proper position could help for sure, but this is all stuff that's likely almost impossible to reverse. Source: rehab professional for 20 years and I've rarely seen an MRI that bad.

I'd start looking into Spondyloarthritis and how it's managed.
Spondyloarthritis is a type of arthritis that attacks the spine and, in some people, the joints of the arms and legs.
Ankylosing spondylitis tends to start in the teens and 20s and affects males two to three times more often than females although it is likely that females are underdiagnosed.
Ankylosing spondylitis is hereditary.

I see, did you do planks or heavy brace type exercises for ur core?
Sounds cool, how do u get started with pilates? A class? I thought yoga was identical.

True. I am still doing specific exercises. Laying chin tucks and postural endurance exercises like that.

It all started with tight upper traps/headaches at age 14. Now I have no idea, no idea how to hold my body at all, just constantly adjusting.
That makes sense, so what do you recommend I do? I feel as if the specialists are just following standard protocol, plus I don't think they even know the full extent of things since they rush the appointments so much. E.g, waited like 8+ months for rheumatology, appointment lasted less than 3 minutes with like 3 questions, 1 including my name. No wonder nothing worked.
Why is the time frame for stretching years, I thought it's usually months?
Damn, is it really that bad? I sort of understand it, but I can only assume it'll get worse in the coming years. Movement won't make it better? Would it just make stuff wear out faster?

L5/S1 is one of the divisions where your sciatic nerve comes out and it is compressed as well, so that's going to make legs and hips painful. Thanks for being realistic with me. Movement can possibly make it better, but you've likely been doing this to your back for over five years continually - so it's not a matter of months to reverse it. This is major changes to your spinal structure, not just tight muscles. Just being frank with you.
So what would I tell a patient? Start with beginning to achieve proper spinal alignment. That means you will have to move your spine INTO what is actual normal and that will be very difficult at first. Your muscles will also protest and you'll have to get them more able to achieve load in positions that they are supposed to be in, not the ones they are in now. It's complicated. You need a serious rehab person who knows what they are doing. And heavy lifting, forget it for quite a long time IMO unless you want to make it worse.
It is very, very difficult to change structure once it's affected, especially in a short period of time. But there's no point in not doing anything about it. Like you said, you're 19.

Would agree though, Ive poured over a good amount of MRIs and typically people focus on nonsense words and scary vernacular but this is actually a concerning imaging report. OP have you consulted with ortho? Posterior disc bulge seems considerable, posssible candidate for surgery--lami/discect at the least. Damage is uni level which is odd with any arthritic process. Did you have some sort of traumatic accident?
In term of QoL--Few things will have the greatest effect. First would probably (off the medical record) recommend some combined pain/depression medicine with where youre at and have seen some good effects with Cimbalta (sp?) for the two.
Way off the record on the DL low dose DECA has been seen (IN USE IN RATS mods
) to improve pain and joint sensation.High dose fish oil couldnt hurt. As would a basic mobility program for the lumbar spine, swimming probably best for cardio. Stick to machines and wouldnt heavy spine load/front load/or DL

prob have a disc herniation in your lumbar spine.
honestly MRIs can be used to try and scare you into surgery. i would seek out a PT first

There seems to be a lot of unremarkable things about your spine.
But seriously, maybe you could consider BPC-157 or TB-500.

Look in to medical marijuana. Helped a ton for my hip pain. I have a pain pump that also helps a good bit.
See pain management, if not already, and a spine specialist and/or neurosurgeon (if it's a good doctor, they won't recommend you have surgery right away).
Also, if you can, get a second opinion.
Also, some people are just ****ed when it comes to anatomy because of genetics. It sucks, man. Best you can do is make the best of it until you get some surgical intervention.

-Am an ortho PT
I've seen and helped many people overcome lumbar disc herniations and bulges with nothing but corrective exercise/positions. It isn't rocket science, it just takes consistency and patience doing the right things. Surgery and drugs aren't included.

So, have you benefitted from this? I typed it in online and yeah, I saw a book.

And yes, this therapy helped me bounce back from a bulging lumbar disc, tennis/golfers elbow, knee issues, and it band syndrome.

He could certainly give your recommendations a try while also seeking professional medical advice, but telling him not to do that, in my honest opinion, is a bit negligent.
What worked for your situation will absolutely not work for everyone, obviously, and it looks like he has a lot of issues that need correcting.

I read the letter. Your spine is fine but you're mentally ill.
Factitious disorder is a serious mental disorder in which someone deceives others by appearing sick, by purposely getting sick or by self-injury. Factitious disorder also can happen when family members or caregivers falsely present others, such as children, as being ill, injured or impaired.
Factitious disorder symptoms can range from mild (slight exaggeration of symptoms) to severe (previously called Munchausen syndrome). The person may make up symptoms or even tamper with medical tests to convince others that treatment, such as high-risk surgery, is needed.

I don't know. It is the spine we're talking about so I don't want to make any errors. Is this really serious though? Will I have further issues later on that'll make this look like nothing? I hope not.
