First Muay Thai fight coming up - tips

Sup brahs,

Posted this in mma forum but got nothing.

First fight coming up:

1.30 min rounds x3

16 0z gloves, shin guards.

I’ve done plenty of sparring (hard), in solid shape. Been doing Muay Thai about 2 years now.

Any advice from anyone with professional fighting experience? Thanks broskis

No idea but here's some motivation from the Ultimate Warrior

Good luck, and do you train at an mma gym or a Muay Thai gym?

a lot of them are more kick focused

you can surprise them if you have actual good boxing skills since most of theirs are trash

Since you're wearing pillows and a suit of armor, plus only 4.5 minutes of total fight time, just go balls to the wall

If you feel nervous just imagine you're sparring but go harder

I use to box. Noticed I have a distinct advantage over most I spar with. Can confirm.

Not a pro here but I had some ammy boxing fights when I was younger. I'm sure you know what you're doing, but the best input I can give is CONDITIONING. That is the single most important thing that a person can control imo, especially in the amateurs. You'll know you're in the right kind of shape when you're clearly one of the best conditioned guys in your gym. Most dudes seem to be somewhere in the middle. It fukin sucks, as I'm sure you know.

Solid. I boxed in college. I have long arms and long torso. I've done some light muai thai sparring as well. My kicks suck, so I'd typically check their kick, move forward, and counter with a fast hand combo like a jab/right cross/left hook or a right cross/left body hook/left uppercut combo.

I tend to use teeps as like jabs for distance

Then I throw 3-punch 2-kick combos

As we get closer then I clinch and just spam knees

If I'm being pushed against the ropes or cage then I just throw those long spear knees and then circle the fukk out and go back into throwing combos

It's a distance thing.

Far away - teeps.

Mind-range: Combos

Clinch: Knees

A lot like a video game lol

1:30 rounds?

Oh that's not bad at all, use feints, be prepared to eat leg kicks to do high value boxing, be calm and look for the guy to go full aggro in the first round. If you aren't cutting angles you'll eat teeps/knees and probably get TKO'd.

Elbows allowed or no? That'll change things.

What regs are you fighting under? I assume no elbows or knees until your 4th fight.

1.30 min rounds x3---Those are really quick? Usually its 3.

16 0z gloves, shin guards.---No head gear? They usually give you gloves.

I’ve done plenty of sparring (hard), in solid shape. Been doing Muay Thai about 2 years now. ---- If you are in Denver, I will spar with you on a Saturday.

----Fight your fight. You should know what that is from sparring. I'm known for liking to fight in the clinch and dirty boxing.

Already on spread to ilove and repped neon.

They are almost the same. MT are a little more open and shorter cuff.

Ah I was thinking of lethwei - MT just isn't the same without the ability to really do a good clench.

Work the jab, and feel him out the first round.

2nd round finalize your thesis of him while picking your shots

3rd round work him out
We're all gonna make it brahs
