Personal morals and convictions are good to have. Some times they might be liberal, some times they might be conservative.

It's the collectivist / totalitarian aspect that makes these belief-sets so cult-y, and the resulting extremism is what makes them dangerous.

Currently the commies / Marxists are a far bigger problem, whereas it was the Evangelic Fundamentalists when I was growing up. The problem is SJWs / woke people should be getting the Westboro Baptist Church treatment (IE no one should take them seriously) but instead they get free reign to do whatever they want.
