-Cost of fertilizer is too high causing some farmers to not even plant at all this year
-Cost of increasing gas leads to distributors not distributing and cost to mine/transport precious metals too high

In this hypothetical shtf scenario, what good will 3 oz of gold do you? Might as well buy Bitcoin.

Real estate is fine and a good investment. Or at least it was before the interest rate hikes so that train has already left. If you can get it and close within the next 1-2 months it could still be ok.

This isnt about 'shtf' that stupid LARPer ****. This is about the REAL inflation, the REAL lack of and getting food to stores. Gold and silver are inflationary hedges.

Have you considered buying silver miners instead?

They've sold off a bunch lately, and provided the dollar stays strong in the near term, will probably sell off even more along with the market as a whole going forward.

I have a few on my watchlist.

I own both gold and silver but the prices haven't risen in 10 years while inflation has gone up
