Scammers like that are almost always looking for easy targets. I.e., people who will simply agree to roll over and give them whatever they are trying to extort them for, without much of a fuss involved beyond that. The odds of them actually doing anything are minimal, because they want the money they are trying to extort from people asap. Wasting time following through with weird threats like sending your family/friends your dink pics is counter productive to time they could be using messing with some poor saps who will just pay them their scam money without much more effort needed on the part of the scammers.
imo, block them. If you really want to lose them, change your phone number (can probably be done pretty easily by a 24/7 available automated system through your cell phone carrier) and just text your real contacts the new one. 99.9%+ chance they don't do chit anyway, and even if they did send your dink pics to someone, who cares? Just deny it and tell anyone who says anything it must be a weird asss scammer.

Said they'd send the pictures to everyone I followed on Instagram. I just said go for it. I got a few more threats then they got bored.

You have a couple options OP:
Fk with them back, or just block them and move on.
They aren't going to be able to or find your "family and friends" or send them all your info - it's a common scam. and even if they DID, just be like - that's my ex she's losing her mind, my phone was hacked, or idek make up some sht. The only way I would have any concern at all is if i had a gf, and sent nudes to some other "girl" aka ****** scammer... even then, I'd just block them and tell them to fk off.
So:
1. Fk with them.
- Go on google and lookup grabify, learn how to make and test an IP logger link... you can make a link to ******** or anything you want and most messengers when you drop the grabify link will show a preview of the actual page (test it on yourself or some sht).... then just send them the link, wait on the tracking/access link on grabify and once you get their IP address, paste their IP into the chat and hit them with:
And tell them to fk off.
You can skip getting their IP if you want, but if it were me I'd make a fake webpage somewhere, put the grabify IMAGE link in it and actually get their IP then send it to them. Show them that you're the smarter one here. They'd probably just block you, and even if they lol at you saying they are using a VPN, let them know that FBI Internet Crimes division will happily sort that out.
- you could take their phone number or snapchat, and start dropping it on pron sites or pron chat rooms saying that you're a lonely female. tons of ped0 pervs should start calling or messaging them, would be pretty funny i think.
2. Block them and don't give 2 chits about them, they'll move onto the next. they are out to make money not actually try and hurt someone they don't even know.
Oh - and now you know there are snapchat apps out there that can send images as if they were live chats. Stay safe out there boyos.
