Depends on what you do lol. Work can give your life meaning and imbue it with purpose if it is something that you enjoy doing. My job gives me a lot of responsibility and ownership over a project that provides a practical and very real solution for our customers. It wasn't always like this, I had to work hard for it. I have been in roles which were typical office jobs where you would send 5 emails a day and surf the web/rot the rest of the time. They weren't for me and I spent 2-3 years making moves to secure the job that would give me meaningful work because I knew it would make me a happier person.

Someone smart once told me put in 70% at work
Anymore you make others including your superiors look bad
Any less you look lazy and others will have to pickup your slack

I am pro work but anti taxes.
You Ameribrahs have it much better than you think, complaining about sitting on ur azz all day for 5 to 6 figures/ year.
I live in Belgium with a Bsc in nutrition and a Msc in chemistry.
I work as an R&D engineer for a food/ supplement company from monday to friday (5x8h = 40h/ week) = Job A
Also work for a cosmetics company on saturday & sunday (2x12h = 24h/ week) = Job B
Because of Belgium's ridiculous taxing rule the following issue arrises:
For job A I get paid €2.500,00/m (net) if it would be my only job
For job B I get paid €2.000,00/m (net) if it would be my only job
Guess what; my actual takeaway per month is a mere €3.250/ m or around€40k/yearfor working over 64 hours a week.
My total before taxes is €7.000/m or around 85K/ year...
A friend of mine who does nothing but go in & out of unemployment received €1.600,00/m for sitting on his ass & smoking weed all day.
I don't understand antiworkers at all.
If you can but are unwilling to contribute to society why are you even allowed to get any help from society in the first place?

Yes let's all stop working. I'm sure we'll be fine and food will appear in the grocery store for us, clothes will be in the stores to buy, houses will be there to live in, and so on. Working is so dumb.

The only way to enjoy and actually LOOK FORWARD to work is to own the business. Working for someone is good for lazy, mindless drones. If you have an ounce of ambition however, you will never be happy until you own your job and control your destiny. It's so easy to phone it in for someone at a desk job, but that ain't livin! Being able to make yourself rich, versus other people is the key to happiness. I always hated when i made my bosses 100's of thousands of dollars and only saw a fraction of the profits. Nowadays, I love owning my business and gladly work on weekends when i need to. It's no sweat to me, because i love what i do and i know i get to keep every penny that i earn (minus bidens cut of course).
There will always be a subsection of lazy people, and legitimately half retards (think middle manager at lowes) that will work their asses off for 50k a year and thank their boss for the opportunity. Schools are designed to pump out worker bees not owners.
