At any given time in your life there are tons of people that care. 5yrs ago when I went through my divorce and had a major death in the family I was shocked at who showed the most interest and seemed to care the most. Just because people don’t show it when things are “normal” in life doesn’t mean they don’t care. Some of the people in my life I considered just casual friends turned out to be much better friends than some of my lifelong friends.

Still, I'll tell you something I learned through years of hard times and good times: Tomorrow is a gift and every gift you open is different.


Sure you might have nobody and feel like dirt now, we're all living that life for some length of time eventually and yes it's entirely possible you can end up 6 feet under without any change. Anybody telling you that there's some guarentee life will get better is lying, but anybody telling you it can only get worse is also lying. You're alive though and every day is either better or worse than the next; one day you might meet a soulmate or somebody who will just kick dirt on you. Honestly it's a crapshoot, but as long as you're alive you got a chance to get some outcome you'll be happy with. Keep doing things that make you happy, if nothing does then do new things. Talk to people and listen to them, that way you roll the dice of social interaction and you could end up with somebody who elevates your life to a level you never imagined. If the glimmer of paradise appeals to you then you gotta see it through until you meet your last day, my opinion at least.

If I went to bed tonight and didn't wake up, It would be weeks before anyone found my body, lol. My job would assume I was a no-call/no-show and fire me for not picking up the phone or answering Zoom calls. My parents are about 700miles away and most of my friends are out doing their own thing so even if they called and I didn't answer they'd just think i'm busy. I've got automatic payments for my rent and bills so noone would bother me, it would probably be the end of june that people would start to wonder....or until they start smelling my decaying corpse through the walls....

it's scary to think... most of your friends/acquaintances would think you were just ghosting them or having a rough week and leave you alone for a bit. Unless they're used to stopping by every few days to hang out, or unless you have a delivery guy that has to talk to you, you'd be left alone for a bit.
