One problem I had was the way they framed it that Jennifer Connelly an old sloot was the prize of the whole film. Like what happened in the skies wasn't the real payoff, getting the single mom was. Complete nonsense. For those kind of pilots nothing in a relationship will ever compare to being in the air, how could it. And Tom Cruise IRL would be going after girls 20 years younger than her.

You don't have to but you'll understand more if you do. This film is filled with references and nostalgia from the first film.

They were great, especially Hamm.

I'm old enough to remember when the first Top Gun movie came out. I don't remember it being considered all that special. it was an entertaining film but many films of that time were that way.

Glad the new Top Gun film is considered a hit. Look forward to seeing it.

I love how in this one and in the first one both Hangman and Ice Man are the "cocky *******s". But that doesnt mean they are evil or even bad dudes. They are high test bros that will talk ****, but still have your back and are really actually good dudes

+1 IMAX was well worth the price, my dad hates the theater but I'm gonna convince him to go watch it, he loved the first one in 86 he watched it when he was in the marines

Watching it this weekend at a Regal Theater with 4DX seats.

It's an Imax screen but the seats will shake and bank left and right during car chases. When there's explosions smoke will fill the theater and when it's raining it the movie, mist will sprinkle from the ceilings. It's gonna be sick.

Considering its destroying box office records (best non-animated Paramount opening ever and best non-Star Wars/comic book movie/Jurassic/animated opening of all time) a lot of people are thinking the same thing.

Gonna watch it on Imax with my mom next week. Can't wait.

I watched the original recently and didn't get what all the hype was. It was ok but not mind blowing like people talk about. I've heard Maverick is really good so will prob go see it in theaters.

Exact same. Ive seen bits and pieces and i knew about the volleyball scene and stuff, but actually watched it from start to finish for the first time last weekend. Thought it was 5/10 at best......... This one was 10/10. Not 10/10 as the best movie of all time, but I had 0 complaints. I actually was deeply invested and cared so much about what was happening and i came into this film not caring about these characters at all.

Also I am just tired of Star Wars/Jurassic Park/Comic book movies. So I am glad to see a movie that's not one of those succeed a lot. Hopefully we start to get more of these type of movies. Disney seems to just be milking everything now.

Yeah that was the thing about the first one. There wasn't much character development and you just didn't care about them much. glad to hear this one is better. Def will see it.
