Do goobers actually believe a "good guy" with a gun works...

in active shooter scenarios?

Mind-blowing stats below.

Per the FBI in a 20 year review, 2000-2019, only 1.1% of active shooters were stopped by a "good guy" with a gun. So why is this message pushed so hard by politicians and the NRA? Why do gun nuts believe this fantasy tale?

To take it a step further, cops with their guns only stop 63% of active shooters.

Crazy concept, but not everyone w/ a gun carries - I know, probably something you didn't take into account w/ this when you posted it.

Also, another crazy concept, not all situations are the same and not every situation has an opportunity for someone to pull their gun and be the "good guy".

Because they know what the answer is but don't want to do it-rather than stop insane people & even those on terror watch lists having access to weapons capable of killing dozens before they have to be reloaded, the answer has to be more guns in the hands of people who themselves could go postal & shoot up a class if the kids are pissing them off, or even being overpowered by students who then shoot up the class/school.

This is a country where gun fetishism is so ingrained in the culture that nobody saw the issues with a 9 year old girl going to a shooting range & firing an Uzi she couldn't possibly handle correctly, kill her instructor & potentially kill anybody else there.

There are 305 mass shootings. Out of those 4 shooters were killed by civilians. However, you're also ignoring the 35 people that were restrained by civilians which means civilians helped stop mass shootings 12.78% of the time

Note - I'm assuming there is 1 mass shooter per incident. If there are multiple, the 12% will be reduced.

Why dont you find out this stat for us, For every mass shooting where a person with A CHL/CCW was present... How about you pull that up and see what % was engaged/stopped by the CHL/CCW'er.

Have you considered that mass shootings tend to happen at places where guns are banned/CCW is not allowed? So it would be tough for a good guy with a gun to stop a mass shooting when they are not allowed to have a gun there...

Well OP, that's because to be a mass shooting, 4 or more people have to be shot. Usually when a concealed carrier shoots someone, the "shot victims" count doesn't get to four.
