I wouldn't be surprised if everything has been on the rise for the worse in America since the propaganda has gotten worse and worse. Most of the data I'm referencing was up to 2015. Homicide steadily declined in the US from the 70s / 80s to 2010, but I hadn't looked up the data from 2010 - 2020 since it wasn't complete when I was looking at it.

What I wanna know is how/why guns have been around in America for decades yet the first real school shooting was Columbine. Then there were lulls where it didn’t happen for a while and then it seemed like outta nowhere they just skyrocketed.

There’s gotta be a psychological issue here that we aren’t diagnosing/addressing properly. Maybe some skilled anthropologists out there have some good reasons. All I know is that it’s gotta be wayyyy more complex than just “Is it guns or mental illness?” Obviously it’s some sort of mixture of both because mental illness without a gun = no school shootings. And obviously people without mental illness that have guns = no school shootings.

Is that just conjecture though? How many times do we see studies about topics where the results yielded an answer that made no fukking sense? What if someone who is mentally ill but had no access to guns just gave up and said “Well I don’t feel like learning how to make a pipe bomb or plowing my car through a crowd, so fuk it I think I’ll just get on with my sh!tty life.” What if that were the case?
