I guess call someone qualified to save people drowning? But even if they got there in 5 mins lol, that wouldnt be fast enough to save a person drowning in a lake.


From the video it didnt even look like there was any sign of the guy struggling or anything. Im assuming the cops got punished from their department for not paying attention and letting him escape like that.

Isn't it like the first thing they teach you in water safety is if someone is drowning and they don't have a flotation device to not go in as they will drown you too?

It's one thing for a cop to not risk his life for a school full of kids.

But we really expect cops to get themselves killed over a homeless guy who is trying to get away from them by swimming in a lake?

Personally I don't think I would have jumped in because the man could have struggled with the officer and they both would have been in trouble. You don't know how good of a swimmer he was. Anyways you need to look at transcript. I can't believe this is real life

i would have stripped my gear and jumped in to save a regular, coherent person. no way am i doing that for a homeless person.

not because their lives mean less to me, but because they wont be able to follow my instructions and will get us both killed. they are homeless because they are too mentally impaired to get their **** together, let alone follow instructions in a life or death situation

What we are being teached at police acedemy in the netherlands is, if the water is too cold dont jump in. it is too dangerous and you could both need help which makes the situation even worse.

+ if the guy who youre trying to save is heavier and tries to push you down it is over for you.
