Good friend turned 50 and we had a small party birthday dinner for him earlier this week. Good mix of cars and people. My buddy stitched this vid together. Lots of people only will see the cars, but lots of good men behind them and the great things is we really are all friends. The cars are just an excuse and another outlet.

I am guessing you are talking about the latest gen GT3. It was one of the first delivered. SUPER nice car. When he got it was was really cool since no one had seen any yet.

The ACR gets driven and HARD. He tracks it quite a bit and came 'unofficially' broke the ACR record at VIR, and 'officially' holds the number 2 spot on the grand course behind dodge development driver with factory support. A lot of fun to see that thing run!

In all reality there is a mix of cars there. Probably the cheapest is the R8 Plus at about 175 and then the most expensive is the 918 worth about 2.4, and quite a few mill plus cars. But it is not about the cost of them and no one is in competition. Just friends that enjoy cars.

Zl1 is an AWESOME car. The guy with the blu Ultimae has a Zl1 1LE. I am going wed on a moutain run with a bunch of the guys. I will be driving my lotus. Last time I took my lambo on a mountain run, I ended up with a cracked windshield. I did not know if I had full glass coverage so it was not fun after that! On the way home I got in touch with my agent and she said I was covered. I was a lot happier after that because the windshield was 7k to replace!


No car snobs in the goup. Most of the guys have multiple cars. But this was an 'exotic' night so we all drove our exotics. I only have 2 fun cars, but some of these guys have quite a few. There are a few GT500's and ZL1 1LE's in the group for track cars. Hard to beat them! Amazing platforms.

I'm poorcel status comparatively speaking, but I love pretty much any kind of cool car and genuinely believe even "uncool" cars can bemadecool. Nobody in my current friend group is into cars, which kinda sucks. And in general anytime I come across a 'cool' car in public around here they either just want to race (I'm not really into street racing for the most part) or don't give the time of day and just drive off revving.

We have private track days and we always invite others to come out and enjoy their cars and drive them how they are supposed to be driven. Our next one is on the 15th of this month.

I am SUPER excited. I just ordered a new set of springs for my coil overs. I am pretty much going to make it feel like a F1 car at this point. I am throwing street compliance out the door. At my new power levels, I am hitting cornering g's where I spit both rear wheel liners out of the car. So I am raising spring rate all around.

Springs come in tues and then scheduled to do a corner balance on sat and on track wed with the car!

If you have never gotten to drive on a track and experience your car like that, it is a lot of fun. It is what has made me fall in love with my Lotus. There are not many cars that can out do this thing on a track. (Unless they are very high speed circuits) Tigher road courses, I can reel about anything in. I still have so much improvement in my driving though that I can make. Just tons of fun!

I am sure there are car people everywhere. Just have seen the ugly side. So many groups are stuck on their cars are the 'best'. Trying to find people without the egos is tough. That is why I feel so lucky to have made such good friends. Fuk the car in the end. They just happen to be an excuse to get out and do fun things with good people. If it was not cars, it would be something else. We just all love them!

FLEX is a good dude. Wish he lived a little closer. Never got to meet in person, but he is on my short list of people that I have met on this forum who I am pretty sure I could be good friends with IRL. He and I have different goals, but I think it is pretty easy to say we have more in common than we have differences. Dude has my respect 100%If they dont they are not living right. This place is exists in a vacuum. Real life happens outside this place. Cool to come back and share and have some fun, but put your energies in things that have meaning. Friends (outside who you choose to marry) will have the largest impact upon your life of anyone. Pick good ones!

I dont have any tolerance for negative people in my life. Negativity is the killer of possibility. In all things there is greatness and opportunity. Even the things that seem 'bad'. Just have to find the perspective.

Within the group of guys, there is that same unwritten rule. No dikheads. We all support each other and celebrate each other. There are people in the group who are legit billionaires, to guys just starting out in life. But everyone supports each other. Very few places in life you can turn where people dont have an 'angle'. No one is looking for anything from anyone. Nothing other than good friendship. One of the coolest things and I feel humbled to call many of them friends.

All work and no play..... My wife encouraged me to buy my first Lambo. (this is my 2nd). I felt guilty, but she said 'you have worked hard...enjoy yourself". I have always operated on a zero debt principle. I have never had a loan, since college loans, which I dropped out, defaulted on and then had to pay back in my early 20's. Learned a good lesson to only spend what I could afford. I took it to the extremes and have even applied that to my homes. Living debt free has been the single biggest choice I have made in my life. It has often meant that I got by with less since I wont take a loan to buy something. But all in all it has been good. I dont think it would be practical advice to give to take to the extremes I have taken it, but it works for me. I am just a traide college drop out so what do I know?.... But working very hard when I was in my 20's pays off even today...Yep, that is a 918. One of the holy trinity of cars.I dont think I would want to use the doors that 'opens'. I often hide the fact that I have nice 'stuff' just like I hide my physique. I wont go to a business meeting in a lambo. I will drive my Kia. Just like I will wear clothes that hide my physique.

A few guys are divorced or younger and dating and they dont take their nice cars on dates. They will drive a jeep. Last thing you want is people to hang out with you because of what you have.

On the flip side, getting to enjoy this stuff is really like a dream at times. Like being at your own adult amusement park. That is one of the great thing about the group of guys. We are not looking for anything from each other. Just friendship. We get together for dinner a lot, and many of us play poker weekly together. We do track days. Just guy friend stuff.

Is a huracan worth the money over a R8. YES! R8 is a great car. I used to have one also. But the Huracan is an awesome car. Hard to describe, but so much fun. Mine is going away and want to play with a 720s for a while. I know I am going to miss it. But I like to switch things up.

Was waiting for you man. Never seen a hater quite as good as you. To use something from your golf world, this is not like a guy going out and spending crazy money on clubs who can barely play. The majority of these guys all track, drive and enjoy these cars. It is not a flex, getting tougher to drive and enjoy them. Who are we impressing? Ourselves.

One of these guys in the group has a 60+mil dollar island mansion in Turks and Caicos. You think he needs to prove anything to anyone with a car?

Thanks man. I am a year away from 50. I have found a great bit of satisfaction helping others. My dad and I dont have a great relationship and I never had a person to turn to for advice. Especially financial. My dad would not be a person to take financhial advice from regardless as he is essentially broke because of his bad decisions throughout life.

I am lucky enough to have figured out a way forward. Now later, making friends with others that have shared success, I too still gain knowledge. The coolest thing a lot of guys who have done well have in common that I have seen is they are all willing to share those ideas with others. There are very few secrets in the world and the hard work still needs to be done.

I am already starting with my kids. We started getting them listed on our credit cards as 'authorized users' at 16. This builds their actual credit. I am encouraging my daughter, who just graduated from college, to think about the direction of her decisions. She has worked 30+ hours a week during her sr year and saved over $7000. I have invested in BTC about 15% of that. She has gotten about 5k in graduation money and we are going to pick some stock funds for her, but she want to learn to invest in realestate like I have done. We are going to continue to build her credit and I will teach her to buy and hold income properties. It will be the first thing she does upon graduation from college. And then she can build her financial future.

I dont believe in being part of the system. I think you have to make your own path. Use the tools that you have. I dont care what they are. Learn what you are good at and how you can make money with it. My son for his 15h bday wanted a soldering station. He is building custom keyboards and modifying mouses. I encourage my kids to try things that others are too afraid to do. Teach yourself things and learn what you are good at.


The world is an awesome place filled with all kinds of opportunities. Find other successful people. Ask to work for them. Find the self made guys and offer to work your a$$ off for them. Show them you are worth investing in. Most guys I know that have made it, like making others successful too. They just want to see that the people are worth doing this for.

It is cool as I know many successful people who love elevating others that are young and have the drive in them. Most of us have really ground it out. The guy with the 918 is young. He just turned 40. He also has a new SF90 a SVJ roadster, and many other cars. Probably has about 10 mil in cars. His company is getting ready to be bought out for almost 4bil. He will get 150mil payout. He came from NOTHING. College dropout also. 15 years ago he was working the yard in a transport company moving semi-s. Now he is founder and CEO of one of the largest privately owned logistics companies. He loves changing others lives. Taking them from nothing and building them into 7 figures.

Really inspiring stuff. In some ways I feel lazy. I stopped chasing MOAR about 13 years ago. I am not in it for the hustle any more. I want to work less and on my own terms. I pretty much have all I can want and know trying to have more stuff will come at sacrifices to my current lifestyle. Eg for pretty much most of the past decades, I get up around 9 or 10 and just work when I want and how I want. I may decide I am not going to work for a week, or sometimes I grind and get stuff done. All by my choice.

Choice is good and I feel like I have had enough perspective to understand that my life does not get better having more than I have now. When I was younger though....the drive to make something of myself was unrelenting. Gaining balance and finding where happiness comes from is something I will always share.

I love seeing others achieve happiness. Whatever that may be. But I will never recommend selling out or giving up things that are too precious. I hope people take most from me that I have been on all sides and figured out it was never the stuff that made me happy.

What brings me the most happiness in life is my wife and kids and friends. I was blinded for a long time and thought 'achievement' would make me happy, but much like lifting PR's it becomes and insatiable vortex that never yields satisfaction. Achievement is not a bad thing, but needs to have a frame of reference. One should be able to find things about each day that are awesome, even if the spot you are in is not ideal. From that place you can decided how you spend your days that are indeed finite.

Life is good. Dont waste it dreaming of stuff and 'success'. Work for those things if you want but understand they will never bring happiness if you dont already have it.

Try finding a local car club/start going to meets/shows and just ask people about their rides.
In my experience car people are some of the easiest going people you’ll ever meet and once you get beyond the “cliques” which are typically high schoolers, most can appreciate any car.
In HS I was a huge truck/muscle car guy and since then I’ve owned all kinds of vehicles. These days I’m often drawn to cars that weren’t as popular (or even were) that are clean and original which is funny because younger me was quick to wanting to mod everything.
Hope you find some brahs near you man. I’m not nearly into the car scene as I used to be but I still have a unique ish vehicle that makes me smile (06 GX470 but it’s on 35s lol)

Well, it is a shame you view life with such negativity. One commonality I have seen in many successful people is they are for the most part always looking for the good in things. Might be something for you to think about.....

Exactly! The guy that owns that 918 is getting his company he founded bought for 3.5billion right now. So him owning a 1.5 million dollar car is fairly cheap when he could be shopping for.

The guy with the white SVJ, is also a billionaire and owns several homes including a 60+ mil island home. So him owning a 1mil car is not really a 'flex'. Be like you owning a camary. No one is trying to be anyone they are not.

Me I have no debt, own a home worth a few mil and a few mil in real estate investments ALL owned 100% mortgage free. Owning a 300k car is not really all that big a stretch. But I also drive a kia and I have a 16 year old nissan truck that I am happy to drive also. Recently 'splurged' and bought a model x, but hard to call that a flex. I just think it is cool. I dont consider myself 'wealthy' by the way. I consider myself comfortable. I dont feel the need to flex anything besides biceps. So what is your point?

So herein lies the dirty secret of super car ownership. If you have the cash to buy them, you can often own them for less than what a 'normal' car would cost if you buy right. And you can even do well financing if you find the right deal. I have made money on most all my cars or worst case, owned for free. Taken to the extremes, if you move up the world or purchasing where you can get allocations from dealers, the car you spec is often worth more when you get it than was MSRP. This is true with many Ferrari...etc. But if you sell, your chances of getting another allocation are zero. (unless you sell with dealer and give them a kick and order another)

There are lots of in and outs to this game, but if you are smart, it can be done well.

I also think the decision to own something is a personal one. It never makes 'sense', but if it works for you and it is what you want to do and can afford it, do it. I know guys who spend more on bar tabs every week than I spend on my cars. Or golf is another good way to 'waste' money.
I never pictured I would own an exotic car. Even though I could afford it, the draw was not there for me. Having my son and getting into the car being an offshoot for us to have fun together, it has been awesome and I would never look back.

I think the huracan is the perfect exotic platform. The cars are so reliable as far as super cars go. They really are something to experience and for me there is a true joy and excitement about driving one. I really do enjoy it.

The other route you can go is GT3 or 911 turbo. Those are very reliable and hold value quite well. The porsche just dont have the 'exotic' feel of the huracan, but you can daily them all day long and your money is quite safe in that market. Lots of guys talk about exotic car hacks and it can indeed be done. As for if you can 'afford' it, that is a personal call. Worst case you sell. If you are buying one a few years old, the depreciation has already hit and it is a pretty stable market (barring a huge recession...etc)
