Thanks and LOL, just made this thread hoping because I want to spread my reps to good posters without searching or browsing the entire misc.

Since my return to the office, I had to cut back my misc time a lot.

I will never leave Bodybuilding.com forums as long as I have my training journal here to update monthly.

Repped.

Last sentence made me a bit emotional there

Do you often have dreams of your Father? I have dreams about my Grandad where he roasts me in the sweetest way. Miss him tremendously.

My father was a soldier and also a tough SOB

He and I had never spoken to each other from the heart when he was still alive.

I wanted to be loved by him. I wanted to talk about things like only father and son could.

I wish we had drinks together as only father and son could, but we hadn't.

One thing I liked about my dreams is that he smiles a lot.

-------------

I know your grandpa loves you so much and still watches over you from high above.

Take good care of the memories of you and him together. Those are the kind of treasure I'd die for. *bow*

I have dreams about seeing my deceased Grandparents....but how they were when I was a child, still with their mental faculties and fairly mobile. When I have dreams about family, we are still back at our old family home which I left in 2012, but in the dream it doesn't raise an issue. It's weird how dreams can mess around with the whole aspect of time.

Morning misc, today and tomorrow are my weekly days off.

It's cloudy, but I'm gonna jog along the sea park anyway and enjoy the life free from the PC screen.

Have a nice weekend misc!

In Buddhism, it's called "Gokuraku-jodo." (Sukhavati in Sanskrit)

It's rather Paradise/Pure Lands than Heaven.

The same here, it's always our old home where my sister and I grew up. The older I get, the more dreams with my father I have it seems.

Chinese people have the old pagan beliefs like Greek mythology eg god of the sky, the rivers, the earth etc. Buddhism comes in later and it was mixed in. Shinto is not that common. More common are muslims, jews and christians. But most Chinese you would know probably come from my ancestral province of Canton where we don;t believe in fairy tales.

Kaz is Japanese tho............

OP, have you read any transpersonal or archetypal psychology? I think you'd find it interesting, especially with universal prevalence of various dream motifs (family members, mythological figures etc.)

Don't you find it strange how no matter how hard you try, you can't concentrate before you go to bed and order up a dream of your own choice? There's some other sort of intelligence at work there. Whilst I'm reluctant to accept a full-orbed spiritual explanation, I don't think you do justice to dreams by explaining them away as brainfarts.
Back off, Warchild.
