Well seeing as I'm 35 just wait like 1-2 years like a normal rational person and watch everything correct itself and then some.
Feel bad for the people who JUST retired though. All those boomers who decided after the pandemic not to go back to work lmao rekt.
My dad is at the retirement age but he's so valuable to his company they asked him to work part time rather than full time so he's still collecting a pretty decent paycheck currently. Glad he can ride out the inflation storm with that side income for a bit rather than those who just retired.

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I just keep saving cash.
If a recession comes my work will get slow and I will need a bag to sit on until things get better.
Investing in real estate and stocks right now won't be anything good when a crash happens.
Cash is king

Increased my rates for both businesses without a blip, one by 40% and the other by 15%. I'm good.
But my next car will likely be a hybrid for sure. And I'm definitely doing less takeout and blowing money on frivolous things. Like a dinner out is now once a month instead of once a week.

I've been driving less. I've also been price comparing foods, more so than usual, looking to buy cheaper.
Investment wise, before high inflation set in I invested into some high paying bonds and some attractive dividend funds. Stocks are doing lousy of course which I'm not happy about. And bond values have been declining. Thankfully I don't need to see and take loses at this time.
Like many I've been frustrated with politicians that haven't been, in my opinion, looking to seriously lower high inflation rates. Hope better politicians more interested in addressing high inflation are elected in the future, with the coming mid terms,
One article that sticks in my mind today, about Democrats more concerned about Jan 6th riots than high inflation and the pain that causes ~
"Stuart Varney: Biden’s crises take center stage and they're not going away
Inflation spiral, border crisis on Americans' minds and 'not going away,' Varney says"
https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics...not-going-away
STUART VARNEY: What's on your mind this weekend?
Mulling over the findings of the January 6 committee perhaps? Fretting over the future of our democracy?
That’s what the Democrats are hoping.
STUART VARNEY ON JAN. 6 HEARINGS: DEMOCRATS ‘HOPING’ IT'S LIKE WATERGATE
I think it’s a stretch. Seriously, at the bar. At the dinner table. At the beach, the cocktail party. At the golf course: Is January 6 the hot topic? No, surely not.
It’s gas, and how you just paid $100 for a fill-up. It’s your $100 grocery bill that used to be $60. Your rent that just went up maybe 30% or more.
Money is important, and when you feel yourself going financially backwards, you take notice. I lived through the last inflation spiral and I can tell you, nothing concentrates the mind like a financial shock, and the inflation we're seeing has come as a real shock.
Wait, there's more: There will be another crisis hitting this weekend.
The arrival of a caravan of migrants. It is 30 miles long, tens of thousands strong and arrives in the next two or three days. It may not be a hot conversation topic but, you're going to see the chaos of open borders unfold on your screens.

The political reality is this: Thursday, the Democrats staged political theater about a riot. That was yesterday.

I stockpile, grow my own food and moved all my investments into securities for the time being. A few months ago Mark Cuban said the best thing you can do to combat inflation is to buy toothpaste, meaning get all the stuff you're going to need for awhile now while its still cheap.
