Everyone does on SOME level. Just some more than others.

I find that whenever people say “I don’t care what other people think,” it’s always about when people are saying something negative about them.

Nobody who gives to charity or helps the homeless and has someone tell them “Hey that’s really nice of you” says “Yea I don’t care what people think.”

It’s just a coping mechanism where people lie to themselves to feel better about their poor choices/behavior.

I care what people think of me. At the same time everyone else can straight up f*ck off.

I don’t necessarily care if people like me. That’s different than caring what they think of me. I want everyone to recognize I’m better than others, but I sure as sh*t am not interested in whether you like me for it.

Think of it like how so many people hate Tom Brady. They want to pretend he’s not GOAT but really their hatred stems from jealousy for him. I’m perfectly fine with that type of animosity toward me as well. As long as deep down they know the truth in their soul.

I'd be lying if I said no, but i think i care much less about my image than everyone else cares about theirs

It's really fuked how I can feel superior and above other people and their bullchit yet still desire their respect, hope to be 100% free from others peoples opinions one day.

Meh I can say this. But in reality, its probably because I gained 30+lbs and stopped taking care of myself during lockdown.

But it has been years since, so possibly fked me up.. Before lockdown, I have no problem talking to ppl.
