The social commentary and references were gold in this season. Not too in-your-face but well placed and funny.

The gun nut Republican supe talking about George Soros and communism got me good.

So is the implication that the weapon for killing Homelander doesn't actually exist? Since Soldier Boy was alive all along?
I assume that Homelander and Soldier Boy will not get along, but probably by the end, they will be in love with each other.

The same guy that wrote Supernatural writes this.

I used to love that show not for the plots but because there was a lot of comical and witty dialogue. Each season there was some big threat and of course the main characters are going to be okay, so who cares. But, the shows were very funny adventures because the dialogue was so good, and that's why I loved the show.

The Boys is kind of like that after only a few seasons. Nothing going on really matters because it's a comedy disguised as a story.

It's kind of too bad because it could be a great drama too.

I believe Soldier Boy is the weapon for killing Homelander.
The last scene where Kimiko could no longer regenerate seemed to imply that he somehow mitigates the supes powers, therefor making Homelander 'mortal'.

when this scene came on i laughed out loud and no one in the room got it because the kendal commerical was pulled really fast.

This season is awesome - I had an ounce of respect growing for A-train until he pulled that twist at the end lol

Binged watched the entire show in the last week, never seen it before.

I like the show a lot, the dark humour is right up my alley but half way through season 1 and i could tell the political messages were going to be way too on the nose for me. I'm surprised more people on the Misc didn't notice this but the entire show is literally just making fun of American conservatives, i dont even consider myself a conservative, certainly not by American standards but even i felt like it got WAY too preachy in parts. Theres a few scenes making fun of the woke bs but its 99% "conservative = bad, America = bad" the entire time.

The entire premise of Homelander is he is supposed to be represent conservative America and the Republican party, and he jumps into bed with St0rm Fr0nt (a literal Nazi). This is how pretty much how the modern day left see's Republicans, a bunch of Nazis. And theres so much more too, like the A-Train storyline in season 3 with the white superhero going around fighting crime in black areas and killing them, which is obviously a hint to what happened to George Floyd and others like him.

I still like the show im just surprised more Miscers haven't picked up on all this, because y'all are conservatives and the show does nothing but make fun of you or call you all racists and nazis
The more i learn about people, the more i like my dog.

I used to post on the Reddit board about this show and I would defend homelander as a misunderstood, traumatized good guy who didn't know any better.

That would make people go crazy, lol.

Anyway, I like the show but it is in fact jewish propaganda.

Of course, there's Nazis in it and WWII is approaching being a 100 years ago. It's just endless with these people.

Toilet humor focusing on sex is a huge jewish thing as well.

The show is amusing because of how over the top it is and I do like the actors, but it's the same old sh!t.

There's a lot of screwed up messages in the show.

Homelander was made in a lab and then tortured as a child by scientists and now he's sometimes nice, sometimes wants to do the right thing, and generally hates people. So, is he a bad guy or a tortured and confused guy?

I have trouble seeing him as a bad guy.

Meanwhile, The Boys want to murder anyone who is a certain type of person. So, that is actually fascist.

Homelander, on several occasions, did not murder people who did negative things to him because he found out they did those things for good reasons. He found out that Starlight betrayed the team and then he concluded that she did it for love, so he didn't kill her. He didn't kill Butcher for a similar reason, since Butcher thought her raped his wife, but didn't. So, Homelander didn't kill him.

Meanwhile, the Boys would gleefully kill any of them.

The show is poorly written and thought out and I view is as a Saturday Night Life "skit" show and not a real story. It's like Venture Bros.

- show is just Jewish propaganda (whatever that means)
- that means Homelander is actually a good guy
- also means that The Boys are fascists (for whatever reasons) because they want to kill all supes (which is of course blatantly false, but w/e)

You're not even watching the show, seeing how you're completely wrong even about the most basic and obvious things.

Butcher probably would have killed the baby in the first season if he could have.
In the comic book, Homelander does actually rape her. He sneaks in to her hotel room at night while Butcher is out and starts raping her in her sleep, she wakes up but it's too late, she's impregnated. The baby takes just a couple of days to gestate. Butcher kills the baby as soon as he's born because the baby rips through butcher's wife's belly killing her in the process. That would have been a crazy scene if they had left that like in the book.

Finished Ep5

Spoiler!

- all in all good, but at times it felt disjointed, wasn't too happy about the Frenchie thing
- Butcher and Maeve scene was literally fuking good
- they managed to nail the Legend as well
- Soldier Boy is back already and stirring up chit, glad they didn't drag this one out further. Jensen is pretty good, loved his short walking scene before he blew up
- plot thickens as it turns out Countess was in on his kidnapping, question is who else knew and who greenlit the whole thing and why
- to be honest I'm fuking tired of MM's sweaty whining about SB and his family
- Annie's whining in the end was cringey as well. What the fuk are they supposed to do against Homelander? Call him a cuck in public and hope he gets an aneurysm?
- and tired of Nina and her Russians as well. That first scene in the hospital where Frenchie pulls the curtain and she's just standing there with that large dude was unintentionally hilarious.
- don't know what to think of Kimiko's fantasy musical, I get what they were going for but for me it just felt jarring
- and of course 5 seconds after kissing Kimiko Frenchie gets nabbed. I was fine with their relationship not entering romance territory, especially because it could be expected that as soon as they make progress, chit will hit the fan
- now we wait and see whether SB's ray's effects are permanent
- A Train's choices and lack of foresight continue to bite him and others in the ass, hope they're setting up a confrontation
- Blue Hawk really nailed the spergy autistic racist character
- I also really liked how Blue Hawk's bullchit apology mirrored that of A Train's after he killed Robin

For your time:

Wow!

Thanks for clarifying!

In the show, they show that Butcher's wife appears excited by Homelander, then they go into an office, and later she comes out of the office fixing her clothes and primping like she enjoyed sex. If Homelander raped you, you're be f@cked up and on the show she didn't give signs of being raped. So, I figured Butcher got "cheated on" because his wife wanted to have sex with Homelander.

The show is telling a much different story.

No, Black Noir is the one that raped Becca in the comics. He just dressed up as Homelander.

No, she comes out of the office being clearly shocked and distraught. Then she ran off and was then spotted sitting on a bench with a thousand yard stare for hours.

And then in S2 she flat out talks to Homelander about "what he did it to her" with Homelander casually dismissing it as "all I did was to give you a son". Paraphrasing.

Again, try actually watching the show instead of making up contrarian crap for the sake of it.

Your opinion means nothing if it's not explained.
you said you have trouble seeing homelander as a bad guy when he is actually as evil and as narcissistic as one can possibly be. airplane sequence in s1, the deaf guy in s2, the suicide scene in season 3 (during which he also reacts to the news of storm front's suicide by being in disbelief that she would do this on his birthday), being in a relationship with a nazi. he didnt kill butcher at the end of s1 because he wanted to make his life a living hell and humiliate him.

the boys are by no means morally upstanding citizens but they are nowhere near homelander

You aren't paying attention.

The Elizabeth Shue character plays Homelander because she knows he was raised in a lab and had no mother or any loving people in his life. So, he was massively abused and she knows it.

Meanwhile, Homelander was clearly in love with her and wants her attention.

So, she was talking to the politician that threatened to expose the company, etc. Homelander heard all of this and thought he was going to protect Elizabeth by killing the Politician in his plane.

He was raised to be like that and since he was raised without love he has no idea what to do or how to act, but he always wants to do positive things. He just gets manipulated into doing all of this stuff because he has Stockholm Syndrome (siding with abusers).

In the show, Homelander always wants to do the right things but keeps getting blocked. That leads to massive frustration and it's making him meaner.

In the show, he has repeatedly said that he just wants to be an actual superhero.

He's even dating a Nazi and he's like, come on!

He wants to be a father to his kid, but is shown having no idea how to do it.

An illogical part of the show is that Homelander could just leave the company and start his own organization. They don't mention it, so I imagine that he has Stockholm Syndrome and believes he can't leave or can't do it by himself.

Anyway, if Homelander was a real person and you learned that he was grown in a lab and kind of threatened and tortured by scientists while being deprived of any family or love, would you think he's a bad narcissist for not acting right?
