If u make less than $300k a year, u are not a part of "them"

People who make 300k or less, specially those who live in HCOL areas like CA / NY / MA areNOTpart of the privigiled.

At this point u will only be able to own a formerly middle class family house in a suburb, a couple of used cars and just pretty much keep ur family afloat.

300k is the new 100k, decent but just enough to get by. The privileged are now those who make 500k+/yr in LCOL and 750k+yr in HCOL

Also it depends on your age as well

Making 300k/year at 50 isn't that cool

Making it at 35 is mediocre

Making it at 27 is solid

All my friends are 3-5 years younger than me and all make 400k plus lol so it also depends on your social circle

40-60k is less then peanuts. The janitor makes more then that. Is it "Financial Advisor" in title only and that's the position they trained you for even though you truly have no financial expertise?

There are only three states where $300k is not the top 5% of earners: CT - $311k, MA - $314k, and NJ - $309k

Considering all of CT and half of NJ are burbs of NYC - you're doing just fine if you are pulling in $300k in that area.

I would say $500k/year and at least 1.5 to 2M in net worth is when you really start making it but even then that’s not S tier it’s just comfortable

"No financial expertise"

Pretty sure I have a degree in finance from a top 1000 school and am a CFA (Level 1 Candidate) but ya no financial experience.

It's 60k now (on target to hit this) but this job has unlimited earnings potential. Our senior financial advisors at Primerica are earning half a mil per year. Have fun with your pleb job with capped earnings.

200K a year, plus i lease my escalade and jeep through my company and gas is covered. So that being said I'm more at like 280k. Median income where I live is like 55k. Am I doing it right?

750k gross is around 400k net in CA. Factor in 5k/month apartment rent and having to pay for wife and kids, not much left to spend on Buggatis and chit.

Nobody making $750k is paying $350k in tax — have you ever made money like that?

Most people making $750k are likely not even being paid as regular employees. They can keep money in their business and only pay corporate tax while purchasing chit within the corporation, or employ family members and pay them a salary to reduce their tax burden, or any range of much more complex legal tax avoidance strategies.

I made $210k on paper last year and paid like $32k total in tax between corporate and personal
