I struggle with the logistics of staying in shape sometimes (access to good food, time/energy to lift, sleep to recover, etc)

But the alternative sucks balls. I refuse to accept it

It's because body building is a mental illness

Most people just don't care at all how they look because they are busy doing normal things in life

In the real world after 25 lifting doesn't matter tbh

Because mediocrity is celebrated today.

Every man should do some form of training. Doesn't have to be bodybuilding, powerlifting, etc. Tbh most of those endeavors are pointless for the average guy because it doesn't add to their lives. But if every average bro just did some calisthenics, stayed active with some sports, or learned a fighting discipline, they will 10 fold their life in every aspect. Mix with with a decent diet and not overeating, then most men can go through life without much physical insecurity.

But most men nowadays are broken. Their masculine energy was sucked out of them because they allowed society to cripple their mindset and infect them with mediocrity and feminine energy.

There's literally 0 reason to see any decline from 19 to 29. Absolutely 0 reason. You might want to look in the mirror and take your own advice.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Also it’s the norm and the masses love to fit in and get along. What incentive do they have to be different and goto the gym? Everyone is fat and out of shape!

I would think a mirror but that hasn't seemed to do the trick

IMO most men do lift at a certain point in their lives. Most commonly I’d say for high school sports, to attract sloots in college, stay in shape in your late 20s or 30s, but it’s rare to meet a brah who has NEVER had any workout regimen in their entire lives unless they’re lifeline morbidly obese dudes.

The problem is almost nobody sticks with it, so by middle age most guys have a keg for a stomach.

That's the thing if you lift these days you have a good chance of being an outcast

Maybe not if you're 22 but at 32 or 42 you will be

I weigh 190-200lbs most of the time.

If we’re going by the 0.8g/lb rule, that’s like 160-170g of protein per day.

A shake has what….30g protein? Maybe 40g with milk?

Reaching that target plus 3,000+ calories with mostly clean foods can be a struggle.

Also at my work we get breaks every hour, but they are very short (we have to be back within 15 minutes, that includes going up and down multiple floors) and it’s extremely difficult to get enough food in during those 8+ hours. And bringing your own food means going to your locker which takes up more time, which means we mostly rely on the free food they give us but again, that is limited for a bodybuilder who is there for 8+ hours and is trying to eat clean.

Also because my shift hours are sporadic it’s hard to plan workouts. I never know what time I will finish my shift. Working overtime the night before and then coming home and starting earlier the next day puts a large strain on time/recovery….it limits how much sleep I can have and how much time I have to train before I leave. Not to mention having to shove in a bunch of food right before going to bed every night (and first thing every morning - despite the fact I never wake up feeling even remotely hungry…I have to force it down, and then try to quickly digest it before I train).

Call it an excuse if you want, but I find it very difficult. I’m still doing my best though. 6’2 195 lean and natty….I feel I’m doing okay.

Yup. That's good for us though because it's now easier than ever to be above average.

At our age now you are starting to see the repercussions of it all. So many people I know have a lot of health problems, sick constantly, problems from being overweight, beer gut and digestion issues, constantly at the doctor for stuff, prescriptions for acid reflux/gerd, etc. Most things can be avoided or fixed with diet, exercise, and healthier life choices for these people. But they'll never think that's a possibility for them.

I just don't get it. Never will.

“since every part of our nature is the sacred gift of God, he who neglects his body, who calumniates his body, who misuses it, who allows it to grow up puny, frail, sickly, misshapen, homely, commits a sin against the Giver of the body.

Used to work with a brah. Good guy. We were talking about fitness one day and he proclaimed he had never been to a gym or worked out as of it was a badge of honor. You could definitely tell. While he wasn’t obese, he was in his mid 40s and overweight had absolutely 0 muscle definition in his arms.
But like I said can you blame him? Out of everyone in his social group he probably was the fittest looking. At his age in America he’s probably slightly above average.
