If someone is trying to hurt me, I am going to assume they may end up killing me and respond with something that will put them down permanently.

Even if he was trying to hurt you, you don't have to kill him.

- you stopped the perp

You are statistically more likely to encounter this situation than facing off with a mass shooter, who's 5.56 is going to push your chit in.

Therefore, the .22 is the best for self defense, imo. Not the 9mm because it's too strong.

If you are defending your home though, 9mm is better since you are confined. Therefore you can't take any chances with the perp living after being shot for they still have the ability to push after you and overpower you(in a confined space).

Agree with tunabrah srs

1 shot from a .22 is a great deterrent.

If they got a death wish and keep advancing a few more shots can kill them. Rather not kill somebody myself but .22 can do it. Im pretty sure .22 is responsible for most deaths because everybody underestimates it.

The 5.7 x 28 is pretty much useless. The only possible exception would be if you somehow knew that defeating body armor with your pistol was the #1 priority.

That's the point of this thread. It's meant to change the misconception. Its a good calibre if the person is not armed and you are outside.

I don't need to see people git shot in person to understand physiology. Stepping on a lego is enough to incapacitate most people, let alone a hole 2 inches inside that's scorching hot.

Can someone use a water gun filled with Maddog 357 liquid pepper extract (9 million Scoville units) as a home defense weapon? Or would that be considered illegal?

I have a dozen guns, and the smallest I'll go is .380 (M&P BG) just bc the compact size. While I don't WANT to kill anyone, if someone is threatening your life in any way, I'd rather be confident they're subdued than wonder if they're just faking bc it's a .22
