This is the only reason I'll be owning a Ps5 tbh, it shows the sad state of affairs at Square Enix though, their main project taking over a decade is a remake of a past glory that they probably knocked up in a year.

BET that FFX gets this treatment next when their next mainline FF game is a bag of ****.

I need this game in my life right now. FF7 remake was amazing, I'm more excited for this than FF16 ... But I really hope they hit the release dates for next year. Having two big FF games in a single year will be amazing.

Releasing FF7R:2 this close in proximity to FF16 makes me feel like they already had this game pretty much wrapped when they released FF7R:1 and makes me slightly miffed that they didn't release them simultaneously

A) it'll be 3 years between FF7R and R2.

Its a trilogy they just confirmed, and this story is about go off the rails. Pretty obvious based on the end of remake 1. Entire point of that plot was to give them an excuse to do whatever the hell they want

The voice actor for the main guy sounds terrible on crisis core srs ... And it looks super low budget compared to Remake 7. I'm still in day one though because I absolutely loved Remake 7. Hopefully it's a good meaty experience, I want a game to get lost in again.

Yea crisis core definitely didnt and shouldnt get the same attention/budget, its a side game but looks fun

That doesnt make any sense because they're two unrelated projects. FF16 is being done by an entirely different studio, completely different projects. So it isnt like they picked one over the other or anything. They've been making both games simultaneously

Completely agreed on the voice actor, though. He sounds like he's intentionally doing a bad anime dub.

I consider a remaster to be more slight improvements: frame rate, resolution.... maybe a bit of textures. This looks closer to a remake.

I agree, and based on how it turns out to beusing the same engine as Final Fantasy 7 Remake, that's how I'd classify it.

My only guess as to why they're still calling it a "remaster" is because FF7 Remake reallyremakesthe story, so they didn't want to confuse the issue since this Crisis Core game is otherwise 1:1 to the original story itself.

Although the new direction might be to the chagrin of old fans, I'm really happy to see them commit to real time combat for mainline games. I only played the Final Fantasy 15 demo, and while it had alotof growing pains, hopefully they'll have a better grasp on it for the second FF7 Remake game and FF16.

I always wanted to get into Final Fantasy games when I was younger, but I have never liked turn based combat. Still, I wasvaguelyfamiliar with some of the characters, enemies, a few references, but damn does the series just go haywire with the naming. I'm not even entirely sure if they're all in the same world/universe/whatever despite sharing some of the same things.

So are those graphics the same as disc1? I don't really see a difference. Didn't play it because every FF game I have played after XII has been a disappointment. XVI has peaked my interest though.
