Your Near Death Experiences
When I was a Sophomore in College we were at this off campus party at a house in a 3rd story apartment. Being high and drunk I decided it was a good idea to scale this steep slate roof, as it turns out it was not a good idea. I started to slide off and began my plummet to certain death. My buddy Brad was a big lineman on the football team, drinking on a small 3rd floor balcony, he happened to see me flying by and just grabbed me and pulled me onto the balcony, he was probably 240 lbs and I was 140, he didn't even spill his beer.
Can you beat that Misc.?

I used to get the bus to school. Instead of using the subway to get to the other side of the road, I would walk down the side of the subway, step over the crash barrier and cross the road to the bus stop.
One day I decided to walk around the crash barrier instead of stepping over it. Before I got to the end of the crash barrier, a truck spun out and smashed in to it at the exact spot I normally went over it, so on any other day I would have been crushed between the truck and the barrier.
I've also had my heart stop and had to be brought back, but there is nothing unusual or entertaining about that.

The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.
They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster......

That's pretty crazy, fall like that would at the minimum cripple you.
I probably had my closest brush with death when I was at a 4th of July party, my first year living in USA actually. The guy who threw the party apparently brought over a ton of fireworks from Mexico and we were setting them off at his house up near the desert. We all were getting pretty hammered, you can figure alcohol and explosives don't really mix too well. So we were lighting these quarter sticks, which were a lot bigger than m-80s you usually see and probably could blow off an arm if you got close enough. It was all fun and games, I lit and threw one but it didn't go off and my buddy was like "It must have went out" so I shrug and figure I'll go check it out after a few seconds. When I walk up to it I see a small ember on like the lip of the firework near the fuse and suddenly the fuse lit near the end. Even plastered I knew that wasn't good and stumbled backwards before the thing blew and everything went silent, had extremely blurry vision when I opened my eyes. I ended up no worse for wear, but had constant ringing in my ear for two weeks and photosensitivity for a few days.

Almost died choking on a square shaped jolly rancher when I was a kid. My dad heard the noise of me making choking sounds while he was napping and shot up so fast he tore his rotator cuff. Still bothers him to this day. Couldn't get it out so he stuck his finger down my throat and dislodged it. Was bleeding purple from the jolly rancher haha.
The only other time was when I was a kid on our way home from a florida vacation. We were driving back and we were on the expressway in Georgia. There was a truck full of 2x4s strapped poorly ahead. A bunch of 2x4s fell off and one hit the road and looked like it shot out of a cannon straight into our windshield. If it went through it would have killed my mom, and if it was a couple inches over I would have been dead most likely because I was sitting more in the middle.
That one was freaky. That windshield was strong af thank god.

Was in the passenger seat of a car that rolled multiple times. It was like everything went into slow motion. Landed in a shallow lake with water rushing in. Everyone else was too in shock to move, so I climbed over the driver and out the window to pull everyone out.
No one was even hurt though.

When I was a little kid my father had an old beat up sports car that had a milk crate for the driver's seat and rusted out floorboards.
I liked riding in the passenger milk crate because I could see the road under my feet.
One day as we were driving down the road, and decided to stick my feet through the floorboards to see if I could stop the car like Fred did in The Flintstones.
As the car came to a screeching halt my father asked me what the hell I was doing. I told him I wanted to stop the car.
Annoyed, he just turned his gaze back to the road and told me to start pedaling to get us back up to speed.

I've never been in an actual accident thank god. Only time was hitting a ridge about 5in straight up and down because there were no construction signs, plus. I had the bride, groom, and a groomsman in the car leaving the reception to go to a local bar in fookin elkhart, IN, and we got airborn. 11k in damage to a new altima. 11 other cars hit it as well. Totaled a pacifica. That ridge did some damage that night.
But I only landed and calmly pulled the car over. That was a wild night. No one was hurt though or close to being hurt.

crazy how fragile life is bros it just takes an idiot not paying attention and ur dead.
for some reason as a kid i almost choked on a snooker ball idk why i shoved it in my mouth but i almost choked, another time on vacation i dived into the deep end of a pool at like 2am and almost drowned because i couldnt swim, another time i was biking very fast and missed a car by an inch,

Things like this thread are why I don't drive.
I was banned from driving on medical grounds for years and even though I have been allowed to drive for a long time now, I don't.
Why put any family in the car with me at risk, or other road users when I am on my own, at risk, when I can have somebody else drive?
Roads are fking dangerous at the best of times.

Unfortunately, as an adult it worsened and became an issue. I resisted it for a long time, thought I was immortal etc (as most young guys do) and I let things get so bad that I didn't have a choice in the end.

I was in a roll over and wasnt wearing my seatbelt, i ended up on top of the driver (no homo) and where I was sitting before the roof was caved in down to the seat.

Near death experience in a swimming pool . I was around age 10 at my friends Bday party , when I thought I’d try jumping off the high board .
Was only 14’ , but seemed insanely high to me . I had a bad feeling about it and proceeded back down.
The life guard sloot screamed at me , telling me I’m not allowed to go back down, so I took a chance and jumped .
Next thing you know I had taken on water and lost my struggle and sunk to the bottom of the pool . I was in a fetal position on the bottom of the pool , couldn’t move but could still see .
My friends dad jumped in and I was revived unfortunately
