Juneteenth is a NATIONAL holiday now?

I just tried to go to my bank, and its closed due to recognizing Juneteenth is a fukking holiday. When did this happen boyos?

banks are just trying to make up for all those decades of specifically racially profiling black men and not giving them loans i guess. kinda how disney pretends to care about gay people except they still remove them for the chinese release of the movie because selling out in china is worth more than supporting gays abroad. banks gotta look the part and have tons of minority employees so they will bend the knee.

I had no idea too. I tried to look at pre market and it was not moving.

Why did they make it a holiday now but not 20 years ago?

I first noticed it being pushed by the MSM/social media a year or two ago.

Excerpt from an email I got:
Juneteenth, also known as African American Independence Day, Jubilee Day or Freedom Day, is one of the most important American holidays in our country’s history. On this day in 1865, news of the emancipation reached the last slaves who were living in Galveston, Texas, making it the official day that ALL peoples in the United States were free.

Use the ATM and keep moving..... most banks have them or call the 1800 number

The criticisms looked to be mostly regarding the artificial pandering and nature of instituting this new holiday.

I'd imagine the business owners who have to add another paid holiday across the payroll are most inclined to complain about a new one.

Ok well after reading his post i did not interpret it the same way that you did; "artificial pandering and nature of instituting this new holiday."
I tried to solve his issue without making everything on the board politics...

Citibank had a sign posted Saturday which said closed Monday due to the federal holiday so i suggested realistic options....no biggie.
