CFCs are Class I ODS, while HCFCs are Class II ODS. EPA regulations ban these products from sale and distribution in interstate commerce in the United States
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Who knows how they're getting into the ozone layer? Maybe the CFC-products are being sold mislabeled or unlabeled and slipping through regulators or the governments are spraying in the air.

This is happening globally as well in Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, East Asia. Spain, Italy, middle-east.

The majority of the states in the U.S have very high U.V levels. Either there is an industry releasing a lot of CFCs into the ozone layer or someone is deliberately orchestrating CFCs being sprayed into the skies and stratosphere. This is wild and you're lucky I caught it this early on.

Burlington, Vermont has a UV of 9 even though it's way far from the equator. Clearly there are CFCs spreading throughout the ozone layer at a rapid and continuous rate. Either there are new CFC-containing products out in most of the states or someone is deliberately spreading it.

We gotta end this somehow.

Many American cities, including the ones far away from the equator have abnormally high UV levels and I very much suspect that chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are being used in or near the country. I know some Chinese countries have a record for using these ozone-depleting substances but I wonder whether they have recommenced using or selling them. And if sold would that include American companies? Could these companies be using CFC-containing products such as refrigerants or spray insulating foam?

My advice is to screen up and bring some shades with you, perhaps alert your governments to crack down on these substances by investigating construction sites or whatever.

This is no joke and hundreds of millions of people, crops could be affected by this. It is also becoming a global pandemic affecting most of Asia and parts of Africa.

Just letting you know.
CFC’s were banned from production worldwide by the Montreal Protocol in 1987. There are some stores of certain ozone depleting chemicals which remain and have legitimate uses, such as Halon in specialty fire suppression systems or extinguishers. Use of that stuff is on a relatively minuscule scale compared the 80’s when it was in everything from air conditioners to aerosol spray cans. It’s not causing any appreciable changes now.

Could this unknown aerial vehicle be spraying CFCs into San Diego's atmosphere in the middle of the night? That could explain San Diego's very high UV of 11.

Its because Asians evolved from fish. Hence why they look like they have down syndrome.

Think its true, I live in Phuket with a UV index of 12 most of the time, right near the equator.....sunbathing outside for like 30-1 hour everyday

I went to Los Angeles two weeks ago - got burnt to a crisp, really red - whilst being out in the sun for just like 30 minutes.

I wear pants, long sleeves, and a wide hat. Also sun glasses. I don't put chemicals on my skin.

I suspect the incineration of styrofoam in garbage landfills is resulting in the higher levels of CFCs and hydro-CFCS (HCFCs) in Earth's atmosphere.

The below image describes that California and Texas have the most landfills in the United States, and not surprisingly they have the worst UV levels than anywhere else in the country (10-12). Of course Michigan, Illinois, Florida and Virginia have a lot of landfills and so their incineration also release enough CFCs to render the UV to 9.

What is styrofoam?
It is actually a polystyrene foam, the type used in packaging of products like take-away containers and supermarket meat trays. It is created by injecting plastic polymer (polystyrene) with gases such as HCFC 22, CFC 11, or CFC 12 – all ozone-destroying chlorofluorocarbons – or pentane to expand it into a puffy material. Toxic and hazardous chemicals, including styrene, benzene and ethylene, are also used to make polystyrene foam.
Nowadays, many manufacturers label their polystyrene foam containers being CFC-free as it has been replaced with hydro CFC (HCFC), which is less damaging to the ozone layer. Still, HCFC is still damaging. In fact, according to a 1992 study by the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research, HCFC is three to five times more destructive to the ozone layer than previously believed.
https://www.theborneopost.com/2015/0...silent-killer/

So I may have jumped the gun early when blaming the construction industries as it is yet to be determined if construction or air conditioning products are to be blamed, when CFCs have been banned from those industries and yet CFCs are present in styrofoams (that get burned and then emit CFCs).And I believe this is happening at most landfills around the globe, hence the high UV problem is a global issue.

The problem is the economy is very dependent on styrofoams so for now we need to take a gentle approach in dealing with the matter so as to not disrupt business and impact billions in industry revenue.... And we should continue to find other sources of CFCs so as to minimize the damage to the ozone layer.

They used to rarely be above 8 now they are 10 all the time lol. Must be climate change.

In California it has been going up to 12! More like styrofoam incineration gone ballistic. I just hope nothing else is causing this; there is a recent Youtube video of an unidentified aerial vehicle (UAV) spraying some kind of chemical-vapour into San Diego's skies in the middle of the night. Wonder if they were spraying CFCs...

And high UV is happening around the globe with places like Afghanistan going to UV of 14!

On May 3 2022 it was reported that there was An enormous landfill spontaneously combusting in India
https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2022/05/a...sted-in-india/

And then soon enough, surprise surprise, only 3 weeks later a deadly heat wave was reported to haunt Pakistan And India.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/heat...mate-1.6463335

One common estimate is thatstyrofoam can take up 30 percent of the space in some landfills.Once in the landfill, it does not decompose quickly. Some estimates put the lifespan of styrofoam in a landfill around 500 years...https://www.sej.org/publications/bac...g-your-own-cup

No doubt that landfill was loaded with styrofoam and other CFC-containing waste that resulted in the heat wave.

Of course we need to take a gentle approach as industries rely on styrofoam a lot.
