Well if your definition of Europe is at all based on the globally recognised map of the world, you'll be aware that Turkey is located in Anatolia, which is the bridge between Europe and Asia.

Turkey is definitely a part of Europe and if you were at all bothered reading about the history of the region, you'd understand why - for example, please consider that prior to the Ottoman invasion of the Empire, Istanbul was known as Constantinople and Byzantium... it was a major city of the Roman empire, and the capital city of the Eastern Roman Empire.

So the Capital City of Turkey, Istanbul, was once one of the major cities of the Roman Empire, and we all know that most of our language and culture comes from the Romans (and greeks), or at least i hope that YOU know that..

Sure I completely agree, it's very important strategically. But if we're talking about the land being european, only a small part is. Of course it shares huge historical ties with europe.

I dont know why they are in NATO but its a good thing they are...Turkey keeps buying Russian military hardware (anti-air systems S300/S400) and we keep right on using them to test and improve/defeat the Russian systems.

The CIA probably signs the deals, helps take delivery and lovingly unpacks the boxes...

Those systems arent installed to joint bases or any area a foreign guest personnel is allowed
