While I tend to agree with your line of thinking, if it were me... I would go. The only reason is because she's a bridesmaid.

As a man there are a few things in the modern world we have to make some compromise with. This might be one of them you have to just swallow your pride and go. You'r not married yet. If you plan on marrying this chick, this might be a small compromise you have to make.

It probably will suck but who knows, you could just get yucky and enjoy the night.

If she's willing to pay your expenses, and you're serious about her, then figure out a way to make it work.

I will say that I get OP's point. This is one thing I definitely don't miss about being married/in a relationship. Guess how many retarted events most people agree suck like weddings I've been dragged to since my divorce? Zero lol.

Having said all that, it would take a top-tier chick to convince me it was worth wasting a beautiful summer weekend in fkn Seattle of all places. If she wasn't at least an 8/10 with an amazing personality and willing to cover my expenses to drag me to that bullchit, then I'd give the entire thing a hard pass.
