Why is there a sperrys& polos dress code in golf?

Pisses me off. In my golf club sometimes I go wearing a tracksuit, sometimes cargo pants and hunting tshirts/ lumberjack shirts and sometimes joggers and hoodies.

Polo tshirts are awful. Not gonna wear that sheit just to play golf. I pay the club loads of money already not letting them dress me like a cash****

Last time I went golfing I sponsored some golf tournament and they let me shoot a course since I was a higher donator

Everyone was staring at me cause I was wearing dickie shorts and a basic shirt on while they all had on some I’m assuming expensive Nike pro golf gear

It is pretty strange and elitist when you think about it. Any other sport and nobody gives a chit what anyone has on. Somehow golf still has a dress code in 2022

Its pretty relaxed in my area. I was running late for a tee time last week and showed up in gym shorts and t shirt. $100 a round course. The higher end courses still require a collared shirt but meh.
Hey gideon! Ive been looking at your wall, its pretty frickin sickening bro.
