Who camps in bear country ? What do you do with food?

I truck camp so I’m in the bed of my truck, but what do you do with your food ? I’ve heard of bears breaking into cabs if you store it in there. Any good bear containers

We actually used to just throw it up on the roof of our explorer. I’ve heard of grizzly’s ripping doors off.

Mix ammonia and water pour in a balloon, spread peanut butter over balloon tie them at base of trees around campsite. Ofc, they say ammonia can damage their eyes butnot a diluted solution. Only have to be softball size so it isn't spraying everywhere when they bite into it.

I used to camp in black bear country all the time back home. Smoky mountains has tons of them. I assume you're talking about brown bears though.

Black bears usually are chill and leave you alone. Every now and then one gets used to human food and causes issues but generally you can scare them off.

You hang these from trees where they can't climb and access it.

If you're a beta and going camping they usually have bear lockers already which do the work for you

Yeah I’m from southern nc so I’ve seen black bears but live in Alaska so we’ve got giant brown bears.

I mean can have a bear bag but I’m normally backpacking in areas I’m worried about it so I just string up my backpack for the night.

Get it like 20 ft in the air and 10ft from the tree and your fine
