There will never ever EVER be another player like Rafael Nadal.

What he has achieved in tennis, especially in Roland Garros will stand the test of time. I consider myself privileged to have witness such human being. An example to follow in and outside of the court with his stoic philosophical take on sports and life.

Bravo and thank God for Rafael Nadal Parera.

His serve was hurting quite a bit in the 3rd and 4th due to the injury but his groundstrokes didn't suffer a ton.
Lots of breaks so if Fritz kept his composure a little more on a service game or two he would've had it.
Some beautiful grasscourt tactics by Rafa at times though kept Fritz from really finding the confidence to put Rafa away.

The breaks won't come nearly as easily against Kyrgios so hopefully he feels better come Friday.

Kyrgios return game is absolute garbage, if Rafa can play relatively pain free he doesn't need to serve 100% vs the Aussie clown.

What worries me is who awaits him in the final, I saw healthy Rafa taking the title defeating Djokovic, if he's not at 100% it will be very hard, but this is Rafa, so never say never.

Hopefully he has time to recover before the semis. A bit concerning that he let breaks go in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th.

Kyrgios has the game to trouble Rafa on grass but as you said, his return game is garbage and its near the end of the 2nd week so the courts are playing slower now from the back. First set is important for Rafa next match cuz he if wins that Kyrgios could just implode, but the last thing he wants is this match to go 5 cuz even if he wins he'll be up against a well rested Djokovic who plays fcking Norrie.

Nadal fans are some of the most gullible and deluded in the sport.

The guy competed for another 4 sets against a Top 15 player... and won. They all buy into the narrative a healthy Nadal never loses. Bull knows when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. He wants no part of the Kyrgios circus and a rested Djokovic in the final. His happy hunting ground in NY is just around the corner and unless Novak is planning a Mexico road trip to exploit a loophole it should be another slam ripe for vulturing.

The question now is which Kyrgios will show up on Sunday.Will he sh*t the bed in his first slam final with no return game vs. the best in the business or servebot his way deep into a bunch of tiebreaks and unsettle the machine slapping random low percentage circus junk and getting the crowd involved.

Djokovic would rather face Nadal. He gets a vastly inferior player to clay with the same patterns he's seen for a decade. It's predictable and it's what he trains for. He's dominated Nadal off clay since 2011.

Kyrgios is an unknown quantity and has one of the best serves he's faced. It will either be easy or a total mindfck for him. This is potentially a more exciting final in my opinion. Nadal hasn't beaten Novak outside of clay for 9 years.

My gut feeling is that the occasion will get the best of Kyrgios and he’ll implode, but I really hope I am wrong. He might pull it out the bag though if Djokovic is having something of an off day.

The accusations by the Australian government may end up putting a damper on how much I like Krygios but as far as his antics on the court, I love it. Just 100% real. I especially enjoyed people getting their panties in a wad over him spitting in the general direction of the crowd during an early game then were mostly silent over his 3rd round opponent who intentionally hit a ball into the crowd [Which Krygios was rightfully upset about]. Phucking sports media.

Healthy Nadal probably would have beaten him in 4 sets so yeah, I'd imagine the Joker is a strong favorite to win. I'd love to see an upset though.

Novax is insane at reading serves though. Do agree with him preferring Nadal as an opponent though. That last stat is insane.

The difference between being a fan of the sport and a Nadal fanboy. Embarassing.

Djokovic was slamless for 2 years up to that point and was losing to every man and his toothless dog — even Kyrgios beat him 2-0. He was seriously considering skipping Wimbledon that year after losing to Cecchinato at the French.



Nadal on clay and Nadal on grass is a night and day difference. That's why in his prime for 6 years he couldn't make it past the 4th round of Wimbledon as assorted journeymen pumped him. I'm not sure why you waste your time arguing this point.

FACT: Djokovic has owned him off clay for 9 years.

Since the 2013 US Open if you skip their clay matches Nadal is0-11vs. Djokovic. In fact he only won 2/26 sets off clay vs. Djokovic in 9 years.

Of course Nadal's nuthuggers will never accept the huge disparity in their slam encounters where he is the undisputed GOAT at avoiding the best at their best tournaments. Played Federer 4 times on grass in his entire career for his only win which is all his fans ever talk about. 2012-2019 Federer played in 6 Wimbledon finals. Where was Nadal?

Meanwhile Federer and Djokovic kept taking their beatings on clay where of course he's never injured.
