I don’t believe that the punishment fits the crime. It’s too bad that she will have to endure a harsh punishment for something innocuous.

However, it’s a different nation with their own sovereign laws, and it’s not my place to tell another nation’s people how to govern themselves. She should have known better and educated herself on what those nations laws are.

There is irony in this, that she thought the US was so oppressive that the National Anthem shouldn’t be played before sports games. I think she should now understand what actual oppression is.

Maybe, maybe not. But it's still irrelevant. When I went to Tunisia in 2013, I understood the laws at the time were that if you were caught with marijuana/cannabis on you, it was a mandatory minimum sentence of 1 year/maximum 5 years in prison. Guess what? I made sure to not have marijuana on me. Literally no different than this situation. Swap me out with Griner and then have her bitch and moan about having to be a responsible human being and crying to the white house for help.

- makes money playing a child’s game not because she brings in revenue herself but because of excess money the men generate.

- gets to become semi famous , on tv , etc thanks to our institutions. Can use that platform for whatever causes she wants. Chooses so to say sexism for the above, even though she sucked on the teet of others. Chooses so to say racism for the above, despite being more privileged than 99.99% of the world. Lol, women’s basketball operates in the red. Her and her team cost the university more money to just have a team.

Baylor is a private university with $50k tuition, with free room and board, plus free tutoring, and we’re talking a cost of $70k+. With a 4 year playing career that’s $480k in costs.

Don't agree with her world view at all, still take no joy in her getting punished.

I still have real doubts as to whether or not she is guilty. Do you guys really think the Russians wouldn't plant evidence or make up accusations if it would benefit them? On the other hand, based on Griner's history, it's also completely believable to me that she could be guilty.
