Soldier Boy is a dick but of all these characters, I kind of like him the most.

What a chit season finale…. Literally wiped the whole story arc of season 3…
The only thing that’s changed from episode one to now is maeve no longer has powers…. That’s it

Just finished the episode, after watching it I'm not sure what the whole fuking point of the season was. Team broke up, team got back again and the status quo has once again been reset. Yay.
Spoiler!
- Maeve just chucked a whole bottle of Novichok right in the middle of NY, good job
- after pulling a 180 with SB in the previous ep he's now back to his mostly reasonable self, great writing
- Butcher is dying which puts a time limit on the upcoming events, but I guess Hughie didn't feel the need to do a check-up, after all he only took 4 doses
- we'll save every- ok not those three guards, Kimiko will tear their faces off and spend a retarded amount of time banging the dead dude's head into the floor so the remaining guard can set up a shot to shoot Frenchie...in his leg
- for some obscure reason Vought's lab is stocked with crap needed to cook up Novichok on location, Novichok can also be safely thrown together in minutes by a coked-out junkie in a rubber mask
- turns out Homelander could have been easily tag-teamed by Maeve and two other supes at most the whole time
- Butcher's spergout about Ryan and fuking up the whole plan was...horrible, HL and Butcher looking at each other in acknowledgment was definitely necessary
- Maeve managed to get up and get carried into a van after hit with the depowering beam and falling 50 stories, but SB was...knocked out? How?
- looking forward to even more Starlight glowie eye cringe
and so on
Main beef is how both Hughie and Butcher did a complete 180 on their behaviour without any explanation. Hughie was quite literally willing to die for the cause, but then he didn't, because...? Butcher went from going all in just to kill Homelander and then he fights beside him because...?

The guy is a piece of ****. The showrunners explicitly show you that throughout the season WTF.

Lame ending. More lame trump references. It's like the tribe writing this show has no ideas so let's not change anything or advance the story. It's just a new saturday nite live skit every week with no repercussions to anyone.

I hate to agree with Braney or whatever his libchit name is, but what was the purpose/point of this season? I thought it was moving along fine but that last episode just seemed to void so much. The only long-term thing we've built here is that Homelander is more open about his psychotic nature and that brain-busting chick with the big nose is going to become President (no, not just VP, either).

the last time we saw Elena she told Maeve to fuk off after she saw the airplane footage, but now they're just "tee hee, we're off to lez out at a farm".
It also appears that both the crew and Vickie kinda forgot that they've got hard evidence on her being a supe working for Vought and could out her at any moment.

Every SB scene on screen he was just a bit of an a hole
Only evil **** was all offscreen by word of mouth
Also awful finale
- meave surviving was a massive cop out
- everyone turning on SB made no sense
- lol show literally praising cucks as “real strength”
- star lights powers are worse than we even imagined
- butcher “saving” Ryan when he wouldn’t have even died, would just have been de powered
- show went in a giant circle from episode 1.
- Noirs death was a huge waste
- starlight going after SB when homelander literally massacred her friend supersonic
- hughie groveled and told starlight she’s right when in reality she’s wrong and butchers plan made the most sense
Should have:
- killed Maeve
- killed SB
- de powered HL for an interesting perspective next season before he gets them back
- kill either Frenchie or MM at this point

Otherwise he was right about everything, had a justified reason to wanting to merk his former teammates and upheld his promise to Butcher.

By common superman-like comic physics, shouldn't Homelander be dead or severely incapacitated after his brain being punctured?
The point is that he normally can't be hurt because no one can provide enough force to puncture, tear, or damage his outer surface. But since Meave showed that she has the enough force and hit a thinner spot, his body should still follow somewhat normal physiology and having something shoved into his brain should have a similar effect to a normal human (besides maybe him being able to heal slowly from it). Yes, technically his brain would have a tougher density also, but it went in pretty far.
I know, arguing comic book physics, but this could have been avoided by her maybe just stabbing it in his leg.

Also, sometimes it's the little things. Take the end with Homelander and his son, the protester throws a cup at Homelander, it hits his kid, no soda or anything spills anywhere, Homelander sits there and then blasts him. Crowd of Trumpers cheer.
Imagine if they'd just taken some time to contextualize it more.
1. Had the Hippie protester be more of an obnoxious cliche' of the left, dreadlocked, full antifa, tshirt with burning American flag, take the same pleasure in mocking the stupidity of the left as they do mocking the stupidity of the right.
2. Like in the actual show, he throws the cup at Homelander, but it's a milkshake and not an empty cup. Sure, Milkshakes are a little dated but make it something worse specifically. The shake hits the kid, the Antifa did not mean to do that - however, instead of apologizing, he takes a moment to think about it and doubles down. Starts screaming insults at the kid. He's a fascist, fuk you micro-Hitler, you're as bad as your old man, etc, etc...
3. Cut to Homelander, in shock. You see his perspective. His ultra-hearing starts detecting people laughing in the crowd. We see from his perspective it's like they're screaming at the top of their lungs in laughter. He looks at his son, humiliated, scared and covered in fuking messy shake. His super-senses can detect his heart rate skyrocketing, the panic attack.
4. Cut back to Antifa in slow-mo, he's still screaming insults.
**THEN** Homelander blasts the fuking guy.
Morally? Yeah, he's still a psycho. You don't kill people over throwing milkshakes, but here -- you can at least understand more why he does it. He's evil but there is reason behind it - in fact, I bet if that scene played out like that we'd have some posters here pontificating how it was actually not evil and justified (hee-hee). It would also explain the crowd supporting him.
It just didn't click. Sorry, a kind of left-looking (but mostly normal) guy throwing an empty cup at a kid and barely touching him -- even a hardcore "TRUMPER" rally wouldn't support him being eye-beamed in front of them and killed, they'd have freaked the fuk out and ran away screaming.

ooof that was bad, really bad
the whole Butcher-Ryan moment RUINED the show, that was cringe from a whole other level and didn't fit at all with the Butcher character
also with killing off Noir they basically completely threw the comics out the window
imo they would've been better off following the comics more or less, most of all no FUKKING RYAN, srs everything involving this kid SUCKS
gonna let this sink in for a moment, love the comics and always liked the show for it's own merit but this was some GoT finale chit

Sorry to multipost -- but how does Maeve go from barely being able to beat Black Noir in s2, only using his weakness to almonds of all things, to holding her own against Homelander fairly decently in s3? Thought that was kind of lame as well, had to give Maeve her moment to shine or something because it's a strong empowered lesbian, or something.

The whole "HL supporters are Qtards or whatever" doesn't even fuking work, it should be the other way around aka them getting their info from "alternative sources" that would paint the supes as being terrible people instead of gobbling up MSM shlock. If the creators want to mock them, fine, but at least try to make it look like as if it made sense.

So yeah, we don't know. She was manhandled by Noir two or so episodes ago and here she keeps slapping HL around, which is pretty stupid, even if we consider that HL didn't really want to fight her.
Spoiler!
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the series of events that went down after Butcher and HL beamed SB. For all intents and purposes he should have told Butcher that "ok then, deal's off, I've got my revenge, you figure out the rest" and fuk off. Instead, after a season's build up of everyone wanting to kill Homelander the whole crew is wailing on the one dude who only wanted to kill Homelander because he wanted to uphold the deal he made with Butcher.

The S1 and S2 season finales had me leaving with some emotion. S3 finale left me as if I was watching the 2nd or 3rd to last episode of a season, AKA not finale-tier. Still like the show as a whole though, we're gonna need to see some actual deaths in S4 or else I think plot armor in itself will destroy the quality.
EDIT: For those who don't know, Homelander's actor, Antony Starr, beat up a chef in Spain while drunk in like Feb or March 2022, and he has a 12-months suspended prison sentence. I thought this meant he would have to serve time in 2023, but sounds like it's kind of the equivalent of probation so NVM. Thought this would impact the show, but guess not.

They did the same thing with the Nazi women last season. According to previous shows she was extremely powerful and then suddenly she's not even strong enough to fly away from a fight.
In this show, it makes no sense that Homelander could get hurt by a metal rod.
If an extremely strong person stabbed you with a plastic straw that wouldn't matter much. Metal would be like paper to Homelander.
Meanwhile, Maeve gets her powers removed and falls from a skyscraper while in what looks like a nuclear explosion and at the end she's at her girlfriend's place with some bruises.
How does that work?

This irked me for two reasons, one is a non-spoiler from the comics, because it won't happen here - but in the comics, when Maeve turns on HM, she attempts to cut him with her sword. It breaks on his face and barely scratches him, he gets annoyed and tells her it's a fuking prop and snaps her neck or something. It's like he got hot because she even tried to hurt him with a stupid toy.
It's like -- with the "magic" bracelets blocking the heat vision - in that second it went against what this show was supposed to be. It's supposed to be what really would happen if people got powers, not like in the comics. If people really did have heat vision that cut through metal, flesh, bone, concrete like butter -- if you blocked it with some prop bracelets given to you by the marketing department of Vaught, they would melt instantly and he'd have sliced her in pieces, just like he does with everyone else besides guys specifically mentioned to be invulnerable.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
