AC Drain Line clogged...best way to fix?

Im in an apartment. Tried to unclog it using a snack. Didnt work. May have to cut into the PVC pipe...I also heard vinegar works?
(these are my opinions i am not a licensed broker by trade)

I cut into the pvc and blew compressed air to clear mine out. Not sure if you have access to a compressor. Other than that I’ve seen people install a valve and then downstream put a hose flitting where you can attached your hose to push all the gunk out.

If you have a shop VAC use the side that blows air out and put the hose into the pvc

Hook up a garden hose to your washing machine spigot and spray it into the vent in the pvc, if it has one.

Don't spend money on a compressor...Just hold in your farts for a few days, then stick your agnes against a hole in the pipe and press your butt against it to create a seal with your cheeks and let er rip.

Another good thing is that you will mog the ENTIRE BUILDING with your massive fart that resonates throughout the building and the smell that comes afterwards.

is your drain line hooked up to your sink plumbing? is your sink clogged? idk how your apartment set up is but in a house the ac unit has a pipe running into your plumbing and it is usually (not always) hooked up to a sink and the sink gets clogged. you need to use a snake either in the attic drain pipe or in the sink

If that don't work or can't access buy a pvc union cut into pipe and blow or suck pipe ( definitely no homo)

This ,need to know setup

The ac drain is just condensate, it shouldn't clog on its own


The gel drain cleaners work well

Couple times down the sink with boiling water after letting it work

orangish colored water leaking out. the verticle pipe going down is clogged..this is in an apartment complex

yep, its taken them 72 hours to fix this. Ive had to be home this entire time to replace the bucket after 5-6 hours.

the property manager is extremely hard to get ahold of and the guy they sent looked like he was off craigslist

my landlord is in europe right now and she offered to call a plumber but i think its the buildings responsibility

The water out of ac should be clear

If it's colored your condenser needs a serious cleaning


There should be a filter in front of it as well

he ran a snake down it yesterday and said it was too clogged..possibly with rust. Then he said he needs to cutt he pipe today and try to fix it that way

this used to happen as a homeowner on the old furnace
1. bleach and water
2. liquid draino with boiling hot water
3. call a pro so they can use strong compressed air and chemicals.
4. replace the drain line

Yup

It’s easy.

Run some bleach into the line from inside. You should have a pvc line coming from the handler. It should be connected with a T fitting with a cap ( if old or ****ty install) or an overflow. Have some water ready to run as well.

Take a shop vac (wet/dry) and use the suction with the hose on the line outside. Repeat until you get a continuous drip.
