Everyone’s thoughts on forbidden west?

I’m about 6 hours in and it seems cool with lots to do, but I don’t think it’s a masterpiece or anything so far. I’m still at chain village or whatever it’s called. Almost too many combat options, like should I even be using traps or the ice launcher thing? Is it the best ps5 game? Hoping returnal goes on sale. Is ghost of sushi better still need to play that too, damn and want to play ff7 remake

It's in the 2 games I've ever played along with Witcher 3.

1. Ya dun goofd if you haven't played Zero Dawn first because it sets the whole stage, the lore and you would be far more excited because Forbidden West continues the story.

2. Chainscrape is literally at the beginning of the game, you haven't even started the story yet

3. Use a hunter bow for shooting arrows. It's the most balanced bow. Traps are good only if you really set them in advance, before an ambush for example. Different bows have different elemental arrows so getting a few hunter bows that can cover the main elements is good.

Most important elements imo are frost, acid and fire.

I beat the whole game using just hunter bows and precision bows (for sniping long range). Also shredder gauntlets can be useful and fun later on but get used to bows first.

Never finished the first one

I'm sure it's more of the same

To each his own, I doubt it's in the same class as Witcher 3

I actually just finished it last week. Loved it.
With that said, I'll admit the "normal" setting did seem a little too easy. Also, was reading some articles saying that Guerilla isn't making any DLC for the game. That's kind of surprising

Turn the difficulty up to Ultra Hard, those combat options then start to make a lot more sense and the combat itself is much better.

As far as best PS5 game, that's going to be personal taste. I love Horizon for it's beautiful open world, gameplay, and combat, and think it's a tremendous game, but at the end of the day you are playing a lesbian fighting robots, so if that ain't your jam it probably won't be your favorite game.

They 1000% are. Lol. Those articles trolling hard. Superfans in the groups are already speculating its going to be on that one island you can't go to.

But you haven't tried Horizon either, genius. How do you know far cry 6 looks better if you haven't seen both? My friend had FC 6 and I watched him play through the first area on his Series X where you had to find a kid or something. Looked decent but nothing mind blowing.

Yeah that was pretty much my experience as well. Stupid plot, bad main character, and nothing about it really interested me. I have much better games to play if I am in the mood for an open world action/RPG sorta game.

Derivative and boring like the first. If you like the first, you'll like it. If you don't, it's more of the same. Personally, I'd say skip it unless you're really desperate for something to fill your time with meaningless copy-pasted content. You experience all it has to offer by a few hours in.

I don't have a ps5 so I can't play it. It looks like the same ge as hzd but with a better map. I got bored of hzd after 5 hours.

I loved it and the first game. I double dipped on ZD on PC and played through again, 100%'d it again and the DLC and while I didn't 100% Forbidden west, I did all the side quests and all the arena challenge things but ignored most of the fetch quest stuff as they were largely irrelevant and rewards for those quests couldn't touch the weapons/armor you can get from the arena.

I'll play through it again when it eventually comes to PC.

go to the character bios and read about GAIA. basically all the important things from the first game are summed up there. forbidden west's story is actually very simple once you are caught up on the important story elements of the first game

the map section with chainscrape is less than 10% of the entire map. when you enter the forbidden west, it gets much funner

Bro I don't even care about trophies but I platted both games. Funny thing is I didn't even look up the trophies for forbidden west, it just showed up when I beat the game lol. I had fun doing everything but on my NG+ run in ultra hard I skipped the arena, melee pits and combat trials. There's no way I could complete them... Esp arena... On ultra hard.

Did you play the first game? If not, you at least need to watch a story recap on youtube or something to know what's what.

Well that's lame. Hopefully their will be a third game then. Otherwise they sure chose an awfully fuking retarded way to end it if they have no more content planned for the series.
