For us to use 'non central' air conditioning our only option is to use a mobile air-con unit like this:

We don't tend to have wall unit type air-con over here but I've just seen one for £700. How hard are they to install?

The situation is more than dramatic’: Germany is rationing hot water and turning off the lights to reduce natural gas consumption.

Insane that insuline can be so expensive, with such a huge contingent of diabetic people. That means they are putting a price on your life, trying to squeeze you for as long and as hard as they can. The only thing that should get squeezed is your dick, man. Goddamn.

Americans think like mice.
They don't want to pay any taxes and think they are saving all of this money by not having social programs. Then, they get hit with a medical bill that costs as much as a house.
Americans are also divided and selfish.
So, if someone down the street gets financially ruined....oh well...it's like a statistic. But, they then get angry at "medical bills" if it happens to them or their family.
We have a super stupid and greedy population in the US.

I agree a lot of Americans fall trap to keep up with the Jonses' and fall for the boys on Madison Ave. But its because its so easy to here.
I'm not going to pretend America is perfect. But we probably have the most open path to upward mobility. Look at all the self made millionaires/billionaires. Look at the millions of immigrates that come to America for a better life. And build businesses & wealth here. Its freaking easy to make money in America. And to become a millionaire.
America is a country for winners. And if you aren't, life in Europe would likely be easier.

I am going to go guess they count as wealth the forced retirement contributions they have to participate in, like in Switzerland. In America you’d be investing that money into your own business/ properties and make x10 what the average Swiss makes by the time they’re ready to retire.

I grew up in a post coal mining area and all of my older relatives were dead from black lung. Also, the towns were so mined out underground that the towns started collapsing.
The general social feeling was massive hatred toward capitalists but no one knew that term of anything associated with Marxism. People had conservative values but hated capitalism. So, when I grew up and discovered Marxism I realized that the people I grew up with had been talking about all of his points AND THEY MADE IT UP THEMSELVES!
I describe my dad as a "Communist Republican" in a joking way, but that's what he was.
The only life that makes sense would be extreme socialism.
On the flipside, I wonder if people are just monkeys and like being betas to the tiny minority of rich alphas. It kind of seems like that.
However, the positive side of it is that not all humans in all countries live like that, so I might be wrong.

People in Europe do not live in shoe boxes, people in Colorado do. Literally, that's a type of house in CO. It's a little box that looks like an apartment sized box.
It's the trailer park house of actual houses.
I have been to multiple European and Eastern European countries and they all make the US look like a sh!thole.
The US is SH!T regarding food, cities, small towns, and houses. EVERYTHING in the US is generic and without any art.
In CO you have towns that are made of PLASTIC instead of actual buildings. The buildings have plastic facades to make them look "fancy" "western" and so on.
It's horrible, cheap garbage made by rich cheapskates.

The amount of imbeciles in this thread who have never stepped foot outside their bubble of a country is alarming. All these retarded poor country logic about healthcare this that. Smh. Just lol. No point in even wasting time reading or engaging. The United States has the best health care the globe has to offer. Can you and are you willing to pay for it? No? Tough luck, you're not entitled to it.
The retards ITT have a dependency on mommy (their government). Weak, losers, copemaxxers.
I'll say it again and it's the got dam truth: An illegal immigrant, undocumented, living in poverty has a higher quality of life than most of the planet. Non americans just aren't aware... This is coming from an immigrant. Been around the world. No place like home baby. Nothing feels more relieving than coming back to the U.S. after a trip abroad. Especially one involving multiple countries.
Canada, England/UK/All of Europe, Australia, China, Korea, Singapore.. All far and away behind. Waaaaay behind the United States. As a whole, as a package, light years behind. That's why the United State is the United States. King of the world. GOAT empire. On it's own continent, unattached to the polluted part of the world. Whoever descended here and fought off the old world did so for a great reason. Even with it's flaws. USA number 1. GOAT geography, and South America is just fine by me.
Not freedom, not independence, but more importantly.. L-I-B-E-R-T-Y. Liberty, in combination of independence and freedom.
Europe and Asia: Cesspool, short of small pockets and community.
If you're miserable in America, it's a personal problem.

also I'm not in the UK so I don't know how it works there
over here you can always get additional insurance for stuff like braces and dental work (but if it's is the result of something medical or chemo it's mostly covered already, but if it's purely for aesthetics it's not covered)
just curious, how much would a defibrillator or three-weekly dialysis visits set you back in the USA?
