Ya'll can look up the same imgae the hubble took for comparison. At first I was like "Really?", but when you compare the resolution and color it's a significant improvement.

All of those galaxies, and starts. That's probably the only thing that makes me hate being mortal. It's knowing the fact that I could never live long enough to unlock the secrets of our universe.

Fuark.

Remember. We're looking several years into the past, and "several" is a huge understatement (13 billion years). This as close to time travel we're gonna get for now.

It's absolutely horrifying to imagine we are the only intelligent beings in the universe.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

Look closely at the "smudges" -- the stretched out swaths seen here as pink-ish streaks. Those are some of the most distant galaxies, with their light stretched and distorted by the gravity of the cluster of galaxies in the foreground, in what we call gravitational lensing. #JWST
