Being in the military deserves nothing.

You are in the military to do military stuff, not get degrees, plastic surgery, etc.

I worked with guy who got all new teeth from being in the military, that's like 50,000 dollars for a person on the street.

Military people typically join not because they are patriots but because they do poorly in high school and can't think of what else to do. So, they are not worthwhile people.

It they want to go murder people, then train them to do that, pay them well, but the education and healthcare they get is insane, if you know about it.

Like I said in my last post, you can get a nursing degree in like a f@cking month in the military. It's what's called "dope fiend sh!t" in Philly where they fake giving you the degree. So, a REAL student in the public has to pay and do all of this sh!t to get their degree and some idiot who didn't know what they wanted to do with their life gets free schooling and it's fake on top of that so their stupid ass can pass.

I spent a lot of time working with military people and it's crazy.

I had mental patients who were in the military too and they get GIANT amounts of money dumped on them.

I have known hundreds of people who were in the military or are in it.

Most of the time, you don't do anything.

In addition, I don't care if you spend all of your time in combat---YOU JOINED TO DO THAT----you were not drafted so you get what you signed up for.

You don't deserve a free college degree because you were in combat. You deserve military pay for being in the military and should have to deal with what every other citizen does regarding healthcare and education.

My healthcare copay is giant to the point where I don't go to the doctor because it's a waste of money. Meanwhile, I have been working in public service for many decades.

Oh now it's pennies, before it was "free housing and education lolol". You got a good deal on the taxpayers dime and that's not a bad thing. It helped you set up life, which otherwise could have been a big problem.

So yeah, we're in agreement that the government subsiding things like education is good, no? Of course it is.

It's not a matter of just giving away free money for the fun of it. It's about using taxes to help everyone out through things like the above, without making people complacent and lazy/inciting abuse of the system. Like I said: it's all about balance.

You have barely any black people dragging average income stats down (or violent crime way up). Remove them from the equation, the stats look different.

Middle class Europeans routinely raise 2 kids in homes/apartments the US poor live in. You guys don't have KBB and a few other businesses artificially keeping the prices of used cars up. A used Honda Accord is a medium car in the US and pre Covid cost $15K, the identical Accord in Europe is considered a large sedan and costs $8K. 40% of the US is obese, 10% of the US is illegal aliens clogging up our ERs and health care without paying for it, most of us have health insurance through our employers. All ridiculous, all with government mostly to blame. Obamacare destroyed the individual health insurance market. Our govt health care programs cost more per person on them than all but 1-2 countries in the world, so our "free" public health care is expensive too. US public education is the most expensive in the world per capita.

Except for the used car mention, all of the above are far more expensive than they should be now, all because dudes 170-300 years ago just had to have cheaper cotton and food crops. They saved a lot of money, we're paying for it 1000 times over. I know that's racist and complicated. It's also true.

When calculating ALL taxes, not just federal income taxes, Americans pay a lot more taxes than you think.

We're not that homogenous as you think. Belgian people account for 65% of our population, the other 35% are immigrants or people with an immigration background. Our tax is charged on a sliding scale to successive portions of net taxable income. It's definitely high but it's not 45% for everyone.

Actually, health care is the biggest part of why Europeans pay higher taxes. Yet their system is relatively competent (although FAR from perfect) and that's a big reason of why they are relatively richer. They have 0 chance of bankrupting because their appendix has burst.
