Dating coworkers always a loss?
Has anyone succesfully dated a coworker without it blowing up in their face?
It seems like a very risky move these days, so it's probably smart to not do it. It's crazy to hear how common it seemed how old people met at work before.
So if you make a move on someone who works part time in another department and you can avoid them throughout the working hours, is it worth a shot? Assuming there is already some chemistry and positive interaction established already.
Asking for a friend ofc

It's a bad idea if you plan to stay for any length of time
You don't want a side show at work
Even in an unserious job :
In college i worked part time at a drug store , started dating a co worker , it went south and i straight up said fk this im out & quit

Good luck in this era. Lots of people have historically met their spouse at work.

Putting a serious career on the line seems like a big no ofc.

Seems fair to make a move if you can easily quit and it's not that serious of a job.

Depends on the situation. If things go south can you avoid them or at least deal with the awkward tension? Can you keep a level head and ignore whatever feelings and keep things professional and civil at work?
I tried it before and the only problem was all the gossip ***got bull**** all the other co-workers did. Had a couple of her orbiters try to dig for dirt on me, go up and tell her I'm talking chit about her, trying to cause problems, etc.

Dating coworkers is really bad when things go badly (which they often do). That said, even in a best case scenario, it still sucks. When dating someone you work with, or even if they simply work there in a different department/work area, you'll end up talking/bitching about work with them waaaaay more than you should be off the clock. It's unhealthy both for your work life and personal life.

Keeping work and personal seperate is probably the best longterm, I think the key is if you or the coworker plans on working there long term or not.

Yeah I fukking hate gossip, I'd try to keep it on the down low if it happens.
Did it work out or was the gossip stuff too much of a hazzle?

fuuck no, healthy relations with coworkers is key to a stress free life i would never jeopardize it by trying to smash, always have to maintain space but get along enough to still have a decent time. besides time apart is important for new relationships, doomed to fail if you are with them all the time.

i'd say go for it if you plan to switch for a different job and have a backup plan when chit goes south. hard to find women nowadays so why limit yourself. if you don't want to jeopardize your career at a certain place then perhaps it is not best, but if you have career options, sure.
also make sure she's not some batchit insane-o chick that will gossip to everybody about how much of a dick you are and that you have a small penor if the break-up happens badly.

But I doubt that kind of chit happens all the time. If I were on your shoes if the coast looks clear I'd give it a shot

I always have and it's never been an issue. In the last few years I've noticed a drastic change. People's views on politics and vaccination and so on are too charged now, and as soon as you get close to someone they'll start to prod in this sense. It's not worth the risk anymore.

Ive held down several part time "fun" jobs related to hobbies of mine, always met like-minded women working there.
You really gotta feel out & test if they are trustworthy or not. Before i even slept with them, id test them by royaly pissing them off and id see if they brought the attitude to work or not, or id tell them something verifiably false to see if theyd spread it around.
Then on actual dates, make intentions clear and establish boundaries before fuking them.
