I know a guy who worked for the same in London for a year with the exact same academic credentials as me (but he worked in cyber security) and successfully went there

Why don’t you take an extended vacation and book a long month stay at a city? This way you’re not dropping everything and still can experience it somewhat lengthy timeframe

3 years Software Engineering in a trading platform team at a BB Investment Bank (London office).
Have an offer to join a Top 3 USA BB Investment Bank as a Product Manager on their algorithmic trading platform (in London office) -> possibly using this to transfer
Nothing flashy but I guess the easiest way is to get a large corporate internal transfer and I think I am decent
But having touched on this above, unless I decide to become a CompSci/Math teacher in an international school (where curriculum is in English), I think JPN/SK are out of the question because language barrier will be a problem for jobs

You could go to Singapore, Australia, maybe Hong Kong, and US (but US is a bit tricky right now, and it's much more expensive for to bring people over right now) to be fair though, your probably one of the few guys that has this option on the misc.

I am glad that you think that way of my skills - indeed, I am not a marketing guy in a no-name mid sized company in the middle of nowhere.
Two things I want to touch:
- As for SG/HK/AUS/US - doesnt necessarily have to be the Finance domain in tech? I would use it to transfer but then I would seek to get into another type of company. E.g. I have a friend who worked in London in that Top 3 USA BB in cyber security, transferred to SG but then quit and moved into a tech company in cyber security (again in SG).
- As for teaching - I guess all countries, including JP/SK, have the option to be a CS/Maths teacher. That is because there is actually more demand for subject teaching (in an international school with an English curriculum) rather than pure English teaching (which many people can offer).

I will repeat myself again, I totally get how the "real estate affordability" might be less per 1 USD in HK and other places due to population density.
However, we need to do a lot of adjustment here. Taxation works differently, healthcare works differently to get a good picture. Trade off is how time consuming this is but basing **** off 1st and 2nd Google search results on "average rent" or "average salary" without much context is retard tier.
Example - a French kunt I know said his groceries bills went up a ****ton more during his exchange time in South Korea. And dig a bit deeper and turns out the kunt wanted to have European foods and specifically French pastry etc and all other rubbish. These are largely imports in East Asia with low economies of scale bargaining power (most East Asians prefer their own food) hence they become very expensive compared to local food (Kimchi based stuff, Korean BBQ meats etc).
I am an European and I would be able to easily forget about European foods. srs Otherwise this comparison makes no sense either way. So his view of "Food is expensive in SK" is completely skewed because economics not even once.
