That means if you sold your house or condo for $700k you would have lost on average half a million dollars in missed capital appreciation

You as someone who has never left Australia cannot possible develop that skill. People in your situation with your low level of life experience should just shut up. Stick to things you know about like tiling paveways and setting up scaffolding.

Of course it's still up compared to summer of 2021 when there was the buying frenzy and people were overpaying for everything. If you increase by 50% and then drop 35, it's still an increase of 15% net.

What the article actually says is that things are drastically shifting into a downturn.
