It would be the parent's own fault their kid is too fat. Rather than shaming their kid they just stop feeding their kid fukin trash food.

It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

I grew up fat, mainly because my mom fed me noodles and cheese everyday. I use to blame my parents for being overweight but now I realize it wasn't their fault. There's no instruction manual on how to raise a kid. They were doing there best.

Losing weight was the hardest achievement for me by far. I don't think being fat shamed would've helped me.

Absolutely. Other kids at school would fat shame me but it wasn’t until my parents did where it really hit me and I started losing weight. Saved my life from excess bullying going into middle and high school. I hated them in the moment but I absolutely appreciate them for that now.

If you call someone fat and they are indeed fat its not shaming. Its be objective. "son you're overweight and its unhealthy" Nothing wrong with making an observation that needs correction.

Keep his ass in sports and activities to keep him moving and active and make sure mom keeps his diet healthy.

Fat people absolutely DISGUST me, so would never let my kid get fat. I wouldn’t fat shame him though, if the kid is fat, it’s the parents’ fault

If they were good parents they wouldn't have let him get fat. Kids get fat because their parents are lazy and probably fat too.

nah, I meant by whose definition of fat shaming.

If we're going by clown world's definition, then absolutely. I would totally make my child aware they are overweight, unhealthy, and we need to do something about it. Then WE would do something about it.

If we're talking about mentally abusing my child thinking, by some twisted logic, they'll have an epiphany about their weight, then no.

This. I don't have kids but when I do they'll be eating a primarily meat & fruit based diet. They'll be involved in athletic activities & lifting from a young age.

My kids hit puberty & they are going to be jacked and shredded.

Exactly, the same rules can be applied to school. You wouldn't let your kid skip or fail all his classes. You intervene and explain why its an issue. I'd rather he gets his feelings hurt in the short so he can be a better man in the long run. Its a good lesson on personal responsibility.

It's not even that complicated. Kids can do fine on most foods, just make sure they're getting a few really complete foods like eggs, milk, chicken, fruits, and they can still have ice cream, pizza, pancakes, etc. As long as they're active and you don't let them have whatever they want whenever they want it, they'll be fine.

Are the parents obese? It's pretty typical for fat parents to have fat kids.

I would not fat shame my son, but I would absolutely talk to him about it often and encourage/try to help him lose weight. My ex and I have always modeled healthy eating/exercise/lifting so it's not like he doesn't know how to be healthy or how to find out what to do to get healthy.

He's an adult so we don't have much control anymore. When he was young absolutely controlled his eating to make sure he was healthy.

I don't have kids so I can't say but I would think I'd want to pick up some type of physical activity to do with my kid to encourage better habits.

When I was growing up my dad outright told me to never get fat. That people in general do not treat fat people the same (poorly). He was probably just projecting because he was always making fun of fat kids lmao. But I'll give it to the man - he woke up at 5am to hit the gym every day like clock work. He has really good discipline when it came to fitness.

Not shame as in make fun of him, but HEAVILY encourage them to lose weight, not buy them chitty food, not participate in "body positivity" at the expense of health, etc.

No, that's terrible.

Mine felt like she was fat shamed by others and now she's anorexic and only eats one meal a day, so it's turned the other way and not good as she was fainting in the kitchen and her Dr. is very concerned about her weight loss.
