Honestly I've seen all his movies and his best one probably is Gladiator - followed closely by LA Confidential and Romper Stomper.

In a Beautiful Mind he just wasn't convincing, in American Gangster he was good but just not likeable compared to Denzel and in every other movie he's above average but never great eg. State of Play.
