Most religions aren't really much different than Simulation Theory. srs

-living in a fake world and getting judged before entering base reality

-all knowing being(s) controlling everything

-expected to follow a system coded into our society or be left behind (go to school, get a job, marry, father kids etc)

-beings from base reality jacking into our world (Jesus, Gabriel etc and then the extremely succesful people that never had any hardship in life)

Since that is settled I can now say that I do not believe in Abrahamic interpretations of the simulation theory. I have my own theories about the goal of the simulation we are in which are=

A) its one huge research lab and were guinea pigs

B) its a video game

C) its a jail

D) we are source of energy for higher beings

Eastern religions posit that reality is illusion, what they call "maia"

This is something Schopenhauer wrote about, that we can't know the thing in itself and that we are simply interpreting things through our minds, unable to access the true reality. Something he developed upon from German Idealists like Kant.

the fake world issue only happens if you believe in the soul. when you take out metaphysics from the bible you cant get to simulation theory anymore. for example, when you die, youre dead in the old testament. in the new, you come back to the earth again if you believed. but you come back to earth , not heaven.

Even einstein said the same thing, that reality is nothing but an illusion, an all too persistent illusion.

The way that somebody explained it to me was that if you think about a dream you're having where you're in a world with people and stuff, and you're inside or a person observing things, who is inside of the other person?

That's sort of what life is like IMO, you're observing me observing you..

That is to say that you're observing a dream which YOU created for yourself..

Neat huh?

Based on my experience when you die, life goes on - and then you get reborn again due to the fact that you exist as karma that has to be fulfilled.

I was just thinking like yesterday that simulation theory is just God for atheists.

Is it true that the simulation theory only came about after advanced computers were invented? If true that should tell you something. We're simple creatures us humans.

Define simulation theory for you. If the movie Matrix only thing comes to mind then yes youre right.

The theory is lot broader than that though

No chit, its literally liberals religion now. They had to try to invent one that is basically one that God created but without God because they are evil sinners that refuse to repent. I should know I use to be one. Well not liberal but a heathen.

They know its true (GOD) but the evil within them and the evil externally have convinced them its not.

At the same time its nothing alike.

-living in a fake world and getting judged before entering base reality

Its not a fake world. Its a real world in a real universe. Created but not fake.

-all knowing being(s) controlling everything

Being. Yes God.

-expected to follow a system coded into our society or be left behind (go to school, get a job, marry, father kids etc)

If you consider following a 'system' basically just being a good person then sure. A lot of the structure of church was made up by the catholic church (even though im catholic, sorta) after Jesus. Jesus only told us Gods commands a few things. Be good. And follow his commandments. Dont worship any others.

-beings from base reality jacking into our world (Jesus, Gabriel etc and then the extremely succesful people that never had any hardship in life)

Nonsense made up from the liberal perspective to discredit God and Jesus.

yeah the judgment will be on earth. those that fail will be destroyed, the ones that live will have eternal life on the physical earth. this whole process is pointless if you just get beamed up to heaven when you die.

You just made the mistake of thinking all liberals (or leftists to nonAmericans) are atheists and vise versa.

Im an atheist but I hate the SJW clown world. We must be numbering in millions.

I grew up amongst mostly non-practicing Christians in a secular Muslim country. Can say that I feel closer to the Christianity since it has been reformed& modernised unlike the other 2 Abrahamic religions.

But simply can not believe in a religion anymore. Especially not after my age.

I have a question for you: Why did the God create us? Think Torah explains it that he wanted to create us in his image and see if we will ever achieve to be like him.

That made little sense to me. So he wants us to develop so well we'd all end up as Gods? Or have great personalities and never sin and live by his tenets?

How will this serve him?

I wasn't gonna post here, but please stop LARPing, you're heavily misquoting Einstein. It's not cool to totally misrepresent someone elses view in some weak attempt to give your own view more credibility. You're bordering on solipsism, which Einstein wasveryagainst in principle.

In fact, Einsteins entire debate with Bohr and co in the EPR paper, and his problem with things like entanglement (which he called spooky action at a distance) is precisely because he DID believe in an objective, underlying reality (and wanted to preserve locality), and in fact he was very clear regarding his views on an objective reality. Einstein was really not much of an idealist at all, and in fact (for better, or worse) by Einstein's era the prevailing scientific view was logical positivism (although Einstein wasn't the biggest fan of this either despite being a poster boy for it early on, and in the 70's kuhn pretty much put the nail in the coffin for logical positivism)... the state of science in the late 1800s/early 1900s and statistical mechanics formulated by boltzman helped push idealism out of favor for a time. The core of Einstein's entire issues with the Copanhagen lads is because he was pushing back against precisely what you're claiming he believed.

He mentioned time may be an illusion, which is very different, although that's not really compatible with special relativity, which is his own theory. Of course, however, we still don't truly understand the nature of time, but we understandsomethingabout the dynamics of it.

You're entitled to whatever view you want, but stop completely misrepresenting others views.

There will always be some debate about what objective reality is, or if it even exists, because perception will always be disconnected from the subject 'in and of itself' (thanks Kant). The right debate to have (IMO), however, is whether perception is at the very least based on an underlying, objective reality or not.

Whilst i don't buy simulation theory, no that's not true. The idea was floated long before computers, and in fact Rene Descartes floated primitive versions of what we could call simulation theory in the early 1600's, and similar ideas have existed in eastern philosophies for a long, long time.

Surely it's the complete opposite, no?

With a soul, you can't have simulation theory because 'life' requires the substrate to be a 'soul' which, in principle we lowly humans can't just make on a whim. However, if consciousnesses is (as science currently postulates but is largely clueless) some higher level emergent phenomena, but is substrate independent (i.e no soul), then in principle life can exist on silicon, or some other substrate that is not necessarily biological. Therefore, if the 'soul' existed, it would help negate simulation theory, not support it.

If you want to understand the goal/purpose of our existence here just watch videos from people who have had NDEs. That’ll tell you about all you need to know.

Had to google that.

Near Death Experience. Kinda interesting.

Have had close calls in road traffic a couple times that might've resulted in death. Only thing I remember was me yelling at the other guy.

No white flashes or a white bearded guy telling me to approach.

Before I check those NDE clips can you provide some cliffs?

Recurring themes that seem to pop up over and over again

- “reliving” your entire life while watching from an outsiders perspective and feeling the experience from the other participant’s perspective

- having an understanding that the main point of life is to bring joy and happiness into the world

- being encompassed by a Love more powerful than anything we can imagine

- not being judged by God, but fully accepted. Though the person may judge themselves and feel bad when going through things in their life they regret

- often experience angels(or whatever people may want to call them) as well as deceased relatives

xG_hEi8E4Ube]
Will check that stuff but since there is absolutely no way to prove that what those people in the vid are saying is legit I'll be a bit skeptical.

However I've heard that just before death the body produces colossal amounts of DMT which will surely put you on a DMT trip. Would explain seeing of angels, dead relatives etc. but I guess its really hard to come back once you hit that point. Heard this happens just before the brain shuts down.

There's too many things to explain, but in essence if you are able to perceive reality through a higher level or state of consciousness, you can experience what another person experiences, but really you are that person and are just in a different body with different karma.

The awareness is THE SAME in everybody, so when you die your BODY dies, but not your awareness, it goes on and will always go on, as it is timeless.

When you are able to transcend the ego, body, and mind, you can experience everybody as your self anyway, and in this state you can live for a million years without ever feeling bored, depressed, sad.. but really the aim is to transcend the mind and body completely and then exist are pure consciousness, eternally in a state of bliss.

I've been saying this for a long time. Brosef Mengle said I was wrong.

At the very least, simulation theory and religion does not conflict with one another.

I’m pretty sure it’s never been shown that our brain releases DMT when dying. It’s just that some people decided to pin NDEs on that substance since there are some similarities between the experience. However, there are lots of things that are different as well. So if you’re going to be skeptical about countless people all over the world describing the same types of experiences upon dying it seems you’d also be skeptical of a theory with little to no verification. And even if that is the case, you’d still have to wonder why it just so happens that a substance that causes those experiences ended up in our brain and gives us those experiences when we die.

Well physics claim that energy is always there. It cant be created from nothingness and it can not be destroyed.

Only changes shape

So that means your 1st theory is false.

Agree with a lot of that but don’t think any consciousness in a physical form could ever live millions of years worth of life and not experience sadness, or boredom or lots of the other feelings/emotions.

The other thing is that “eternally in a state of bliss” is misunderstood due to our concept of time. Without our constraints of what time means, a person could experience eternity and then still move on to another phase of existence because eternity was experienced in a timeless realm and then they could move into a realm like the one we inhabit.

you'd need to have the 'inner experience' to know what im talking about - there's a way to experience the ultimate bliss without any comedowns

based.

physicists are currently finding out that "theory of everything" mathematics are eerily similar to computer code.
