I'd rather an iPhone cost twice as much as it does now as long as it were completely made in the US. In fact, people have done the math, a US built iPhone 13 would only add about $400 to the total cost.
Trump used tariffs to make it more expensive to manufacture in china instead of the us as a means to bring manufacturing back.
it was on the heavy handed side but it was starting to work until covid hit.
then the shortages came from china and now people see how much we relied on china.

however that's no longer the biggest issue with the economy, inflation and cost of energy.

Her and her husband probably took out a big position in domestic chip manufacturers so they are looking to provoke china into shutting down Taiwan's chip manufacturing and exports. Srs.

Look at the price of a ship container now vs 6 months ago. Housing cost also impact and we all see what's happening there. Inflation will be trending down over the next 6 months.

Employment remains really really strong. Unemployment will likely tick up into the 4's, but that's fine.

Despite the supply chain disruptions, covid winding down, and inflation, GDP is barely negative. Once these factors all begin to ease GDP will tick up as well.

The stock market had an excellent July and is forward looking.

Damn, Nancy and the Biden admin standing up to Xi, Russia, and the rest of the world.

Remember when Trump said "I asked Putin if he hacked the election and he said no. What else can I do?"

You can rest assured Pelosi didnt go over to Taiwan to drive her stock prices up...This was a strategic move and statement by the administration with the military involved. She probably was told the trip was needed and was asked to go. They wouldnt send the President or the VP but they sent the third in line to make a statement. This is the first time in 25 years a politician with this level of clout has stepped foot on Taiwans soil.

Pelosi doesnt just decide she wants to go to Taiwan and get on plane.

I believe she had a trip planned for April too but had to cancel due to COVID. Props for actually pulling it off lol. Better than Brandon or Giggles, hope she is staying sober during her Asia tour.

The one potential issue that I'm not factoring in is if companies start cutting jobs due to the higher interest rates and lower growth. But earnings have largely been ok so far and we can afford to slip 1 point in unemployment and still be near full employment. I'd say the odds are 75/25 a year from now we're sitting here looking at pretty rosy economic times.
